How did we go from "Unconditional Surrender" to Lifting Sanctions/Unfreezing $25B in Assets and Setting up $300B investment pools? Didn't we win?

Man, whomever you're quoting is a genius.

Personally I doubt Iran ever sees more than a token amount of that $25B or $300B while Trump is in office.

The $300B is puzzling....

The $25B is theirs; they'll get it pronto. The big money is the sale of oil on the open market. Thanks to us...the price is very high at the moment and they can cash in bigly. Its a bizarre outcome to a war that should have never been fought.

A miscalculatuon. From the many news sources I listen to on YouTube there are a variety of opinions.

Right now, Trump probably realizes that the cost/benefit analysis is greatly skewed against maintaining the blockade and certainly not engaging in combat without a legitimate reason. It costs money to maintain the blockade and the cost of oil impacts everything.

Who knows, maybe Iran will see the light. The M.E is one messed up area of the world, Israel being one of the very few nations even worth visiting. This isn't due to the history or beauty of the region but due to the governments and systems in place.

It is akin to China. I would love to visit and experience the history there, but do I want to risk being imprisoned for a false claim that I am a spy or something? I deal with enough of an unaccountable system in Canada no need to travel to experience it in an even more pure form. I digress.

Trump and his administration have made similar calculations, "what benefit does America receive by continuing this war"?

Ultimately, as long as the do not get a nuke, it will be a success.

They will only get the $25B if Trump releases it. He is nothing if not mercurial and I wouldn't assume anything at this point, especially if Iran decides to skip the signing ceremony.

They they close the strait again.
Oil shoots up again.

Iran called his bluff once already and won. Your analysis is wrong I'm afraid.

They were no where close to getting a nuke. All of this was just a distraction from a failed domestic agenda.

I think there is a great deal we do not know. I tend to believe the comment Rubio made after the war began. Unless it was a coordinated response to protect Trump, he suggested that the U.S followed Israel after they started the attack.

I'd love to hear from Trump supporters how its a victory when Trump first wanted "unconditional surrender" then wound up allowing them access to $23B more dollars than Obama did? Then on top of that, lifting sanctions on Iranian oil as well.

Back in the old days, the side that won dictated terms to the side that lost. Seems like we're not doing much dictating.
Jimmy Kimmel: "Just to recap: we killed the ayatollah and replaced him with a younger, more radical ayatollah.

We did nothing for the protesters in Iran.

We used up who knows how many billions of dollars on bombs and missiles.

Many American and civilian lives were lost.

We gave Iran full control of the strait of Hormuz and we threw in a minimum of $300 billion, ’cause why not?

Right now, Melania’s wondering, ‘How do I get a deal like that?’"

Maybe they should have made an initial calculation, you know, maybe something like, "What benefit does America receive by starting this war?"

By the way, follow your heart! Go to China!

It is spilled milk now. The future is going to be a challenge but the other nations in the M.E seem willing to try and chnabge Iran. If their leaders love their citizens they will accept some change, if not, they will continue the same pursuits which do nothing but harm their citizens and their prosperity.

I completely agree we have to wait and see to find out how this turns out. But on its appearance, we got nothing out of this war.

Amendment to the above: we may not have long to wait.

We do know we bombed the same sites in 2025. Say what you want about the results...don't worry about that for the time being. Trump said "obliterated". If you believe they were a threat 10 months later, you would have to conclude that Trump was lying his a$$ off.
I tend to believe the comment Rubio made after the war began.
If you can't believe Trump--which I just proved you can't....why would you believe someone who works for him?
Unless it was a coordinated response to protect Trump, he suggested that the U.S followed Israel after they started the attack.
Leave Israel out of it. Trump's an adult...nobody forced us to drop bombs on anyone.

But lets get back to the June 2025 actions...whatever we hit--whatever the damage actually was, it's safe to say the facilities were degraded and the personnel--some of them key personnel--were either killed or wounded. The estimates are between 400 and 1000 people around the installations were killed.

It should be clear to you that not only could they have produced a missile in 10 months between the June Bombings and this past February's silliness under the best circumstances; they surely couldn't do it with the loss of talent and whatever degraded capacity they were suffering under.

That you continue to put any faith in this administration is not only sad; it's bizarre.

Or Trump starts bombing again.
The bombing didn't work the first time.
Or start sneaking tankers through again.
The price of gas remained very high even with the "sneaking"--trillions of dollars spent in defense by every President since Reagan...and we're "sneaking"?
I don't have access to your crystal ball and and am forced to speculate.
Speculate all you want. But if bombing resulted in this dog of a deal...why do you think more bombing will result in something different? You're not speculating, you're denying reality.

I made a similar remark to another guy a bit ago. Who basically made the same point, ( I guess that's what their pundits on Fox are selling).

I can't say I understand it though. It's one thing to deny reality about what happened years ago. Motivated reasoning can indeed rewrite history.

But this is the future. And even if someone like Eman623 really believes this. The reality of the situation will inevitably hit. So the pundit class within their media bubble tries selling this BS seems simply stupid, even from their perspective.

What will they say in 60 days when reality hits?

And the reality is that Iran didn't just win the war. But they've now got the ultimate leverage over Trump (and the world), and it's leverage they can use at any time. Meaning that they can litterally name their price and the price will be paid.

We've known all along, and we've been saying all along, that Trump would end up having to escape and put lipstick on a pig. He was trapped, the entire world (except Bebe, of course) was on his back to end this, inflation was increasing and the mid terms were approaching.

So he did exactly what we expected: He capitulated and is trying to put that goddamn lipstick on that goddamn pig.

Even his last line of political defense, his shameless, craven Republican Congress, are admitting this is awful.

The cult? Well, they're useful idiots, and they're just doing what useful idiots do.
