Yes....this is just south of our border in Mexico...where the government has been teaming up with the cartels to murder Mexican citizens......so.....lucky for them only the police had guns in this incident......I mean...who wants the victims to shoot back at the agents of the state.......right?

Borderland Beat Michoac n Contrary to Castillo s claim Federal Police gunned down 16 unarmed civilians

Members of the autodefensa forces of Michoacán were killed in Apatzingan on January 6 by elements of the Federal Police. Their deaths were not because of the "cross-fire", as had been assured by former Michoacán security commissioner, Alfredo Castillo. This was revealed in a report supported by 50 interviews, death certificates, and audio recordings in an investigation by Mexican journalist Laura Castellanos.

The attack was not only against men, but women and children as well.

Our gun laws will come under scrutiny during the coming year. Candidates will claim to be able to resolve gun violence by controlling our access to guns. All of their arguments will be based on emotion rather than the FACT that criminals do not obey laws. The major truth that will be ignored is that gun violence declines in areas where guns are unrestricted.

So your logic is that heavily armed police and cartels would back down at the sight of one civilian with a gun?

Tell me, does that work with American cops? They see a gun, they usually don't back off. They take that sucker out.

"Operation Fast/Furious" that Barry Hussein and Eric Holder seemed to have authorized and then not authorized or forgot about or never heard of was an ATF crazy plan to ship thousands of illegal weapons to Mexican drug cartels. Is there any sane person left in the U.S. government who has the culyones to address the decades out of control ATF maniacs who were responsible for Ruby Ridge, Waco, (The OKC bombing?) and operation Fast Furious?

Yes, the ATF was the problem, not the Nazis and child molesting cultists and drug dealers.

Let's get real. 250,000 guns cross the border every year, and 90% of guns in Mexico start in the US. While the ATF's attempts to track it was clumsy, the real problem is that gun stores will sell to anyone.

Sorry, that is a lie....90% of guns that are actually traceable...all the rest can't be traced and there are more of those than come from the U.S.....china and Europe for example.......and no...gun stores will not sell to anyone...

In fact...if you actually read about obama's plan in Fast and Furious, the gun stores that sold the guns told the ATF.....we don't want to sell to these guys because we know they are straw purchasers.....and the ATF ordered them to sell the guns or lose their licenses....and then later let the IRS try to screw these gun stores over.....but they kept their paperwork......

Again, nobody is going to get a gun from China when they can drive right up to a gun store in Arizona and get a shitload of them, no questions asked.

You guys are upset about F&F because it proved the Gun Industries complicity in Mexican violence.

Joe...they get guns from china...and Europe.....and no, the gun industry was not involved in Mexican violence....eric holder and barak obama forced American gun dealers to sell guns to obvious straw buyers or they were going to pull their licenses.........

Mexico s Gun Supply and the 90 Percent Myth Stratfor

By the Numbers

As we discussed in a previous analysis, the 90 percent number was derived from a June 2009 U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) report to Congress on U.S. efforts to combat arms trafficking to Mexico (see external link).

According to the GAO report, some 30,000 firearms were seized from criminals by Mexican authorities in 2008. Of these 30,000 firearms, information pertaining to 7,200 of them (24 percent) was submitted to the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for tracing. Of these 7,200 guns, only about 4,000 could be traced by the ATF, and of these 4,000, some 3,480 (87 percent) were shown to have come from the United States.

This means that the 87 percent figure relates to the number of weapons submitted by the Mexican government to the ATF that could be successfully traced and not from the total number of weapons seized by Mexican authorities or even from the total number of weapons submitted to the ATF for tracing. In fact, the 3,480 guns positively traced to the United States equals less than 12 percent of the total arms seized in Mexico in 2008 and less than 48 percent of all those submitted by the Mexican government to the ATF for tracing.

This means that almost 90 percent of the guns seized in Mexico in 2008 were not traced back to the United States.

and....

Type 3: Guns Not Available for Civilian Purchase in Mexico or the U.S.

The third category of weapons encountered in Mexico is military-grade ordnance not generally available for sale in the United States or Mexico. This category includes hand grenades, 40 mm grenades, rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), automatic assault rifles and main battle rifles and light machine guns.

This third type of weapon is fairly difficult and very expensive to obtain in the United States, especially in the large numbers in which the cartels are employing them.

They are also dangerous to obtain in the United States due to heavy law enforcement scrutiny.

Therefore, most of the military ordnance used by the Mexican cartels comes from other sources, such as the international arms market

— increasingly from China via the same networks that furnish precursor chemicals for narcotics manufacturing — or from corrupt elements in the Mexican military or even deserters who take their weapons with them.

Besides, items such as South Korean fragmentation grenades and RPG-7s, often used by the cartels, simply are not in the U.S. arsenal. This means that very few of the weapons in this category come from the United States.

Guy, I know you live in a fantasy where there are shitloads of chinese guns or something.

But those guns in Mexico come from America. Deal with it.

It puzzles me just a little bit that Obama wants to disarm the American public at the same time he wants to arm and aid rebels to depose foreign leaders. What a fucking joke Obama and the brainwashed liberals are!

Obama has not suggested disarming the American public.

Actually, he did tell John Lott he doesn't believe people have the right to own guns.......back when they were both at the University of Chicago....

And he's right. The Second Amendment is about Militias. The idea that a citizen has a "right" to own a gun regardless of his lack of training, mental stability or need is just crazy.

32,000 deaths and 78,000 injuries every year prove that.
