He went from seaman recruit to vice admiral. And at some point some of his medals were questioned. He shot him self over it.

I'm thinking he did somewhere. The whistle blower it seem has had a whistle blown on him for accepting money. He should be getting investigated now to see if any of that money came from over seas. The Ukrain to be specific. Vindman was noted to have derided his country, the country whose uniform he was in to Russin military folks. So yeah, I'm pretty sure Vindman can be cought in a lie. Vindman should defiantly be investigated to see if any of his dealings with Russia or Ukrain. He should get the same treatment Flynn got if at any point his story changes. How, exactly, do you lose a job for security violations and return to the CIA? One would normally lose one's clearance, and even janitors and cafeteria workers at CIA are cleared.

Then there's LTC Alex Vindman, NSC staffer and active-duty Army officer. He has testified that he disobeyed orders, advised foreign governments to resist Trump, leaked internal information to others, and was actively working to subvert the president's foreign policy.

According to the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Article 88 covers Contempt to officials, Article 92 deals with Failure to obey orders, and Article 133 covers Conduct unbecoming an officer. Article 94 covers Mutiny.

Normally, under these circumstances, a serving officer would at least be relieved and very possibly confined awaiting court-martial.

And there is the complaint that Trump's conversations with Zelensky were being stored on a classified server.

According to the Department of State's regulations, conversations between American officials and foreign heads of state are automatically classified CONFIDENTIAL and NOFORN.

You normally store classified information on classified servers. Even confidential. Classification is an Article II powers of the president (see Executive Order 13526). If he says it's classified, it's classified. The second is that the White House was concerned about stuff being leaked and warned Vindman explicitly about talking about it.

So why is it surprising that material is being stored on a classified server? Why was it ever stored on anything BUT a classified server?

In the normal course of events security violations are punishable by everything from actually losing a job to extended terms in Kansas making small rocks.
