American Culture - Godless With No Moral Principles

Crap and crap. Neither of us agree with Shafarevich's crap and Solzhenitsyn was in his own reality.

I agree with you that "There is no formal defined dogma of socialism..." far more than I do with Shafarevich, "While the ideology of socialism is sharply defined...".
It was sharply defined by Shafarevich. Socialism prefers to hide its ideology.
Shafarevich is a Russian and was talking about Russian socialism/communism. What could he know about European or US socialism. What happened to your "There is no formal defined dogma of socialism"?

Is this true? We no longer believe in right versus wrong. Or good versus evil?

Why?

Is it the lack of unified families? Of fathers and mothers raising their children with shared values? Is it the tirade of atheist propaganda overwhelming our classrooms and media?

This articles says a lot but I can't really put a finger on where it is going or what it wants to report. Check it our for yourselves @ American culture has been transformed into a godless culture with no moral principles
Al salam alaykum?
See what happens when the richest preacher in the US dies?

James Robison died?

So God sent Moses knowing his work would be corrupted so he then sent prophets knowing they'd be ignored. Not much of a plan when you think about it?

lol....not mush of a plan? Who can say? The wheels are still in motion. Planetary conquest takes time......at least nobody is sacrificing their children to Molech anymore. Maybe in another thousand years no one will believe that God can be eaten by humans.

Apparently human beings are stupid creatures, very slow learners.

The peoples understanding of the law was corrupted over time, accordingly the books were embellished over a thousand year period reflecting the contemporary concerns of unknown editors.
You sound like a Muslim. So what do we really know of God's words then? What do we know of Jesus' words since they have certainly encountered the same corruption/embellishment as those of Moses?

What does that say about a God who judges us but has allowed the rules of his judgement to be lost?

you don't need god or a god to have moral values..You can/should teach your kids don't steal/don't hate/don't kill

What does it say about God? He doesn't fuck around or give a shit if people screw up the opportunity for a better world that he gave them?

Yes, America has already lost its moral compass but not because of religion. It's because its religious and moral leaders have all become corrupt and corrupted it. They have perverted the faith(s) they claim to represent. Politics and money top the list of reasons for it. This kind of religious hypocrisy and perfidy took decades to accomplish. Imagine, so-called christians literally cheering for pain and misery in others. The self-righteous are the worse.

Time is only a problem for mortals.
He certainly isn't interested in people or what I would consider fairness. My moral compass would never allow me to do some of the things he has done.

Of course you would think that only knowing half the story...

The current morality is that the end justifies the means. For example, support a man with a history of marriages and affairs if he is anti-abortion.

Can you claim to know the whole story if you can't say the Bible is the unadulterated word of God? Are you substituting faith for knowledge?

lol... put it back in your pants grandpa.

What I meant is that people haven't even understood the lessons of the past. They have the words. They read them over and over but until they learn to think deeply they will never comprehend the subjects or the teaching.

No, time is a problem for god, too, because god is impossible because of it.

Time is only a problem for mortals. God could always revisit the subject with a more agreeable and intelligent people in the distant future...in the meantime things would probably get ugly, if the past is any indication. That is exclusively a human problem.

Unfortunately, many so-called christians are fixated on abortion, to the exclusion of all other issues and common sense. For example, I've meet too many of these single-issue religious that will only vote for candidates that are against abortion to the extent that they don't care what the rest of their agenda is, or even if they're a criminal...so long as he or she is against abortion. Scary people.

They either have the words or they were embellished, which is it?

FYI, I won't be a grandpa until July.

It is both.

"The kingdom of Heaven is like treasure lying buried in a field. The man who found it, buried it again."

you have to dig deeply and sort through a lot of crap in order to find the hidden treasure.

Can you dig it?

I once believed the bible was The (unadulterated) Word of God.

The more I've learned about it, the more mistakes and errors in translation I've come upon. There are few if any original texts of the Old Testament in existence unless they're buried deep in the Vatican or isolated Coptic monasteries.

The Vulgate bible was clearly put together to fulfill an agenda and is missing a massive amount of writings about the life of Jesus. Again, a huge amount of stuff lies gathering dust in the Vatican.

The King James version was ordered to make it more "palatable" to the common people of the United Kingdom. The king specifically told those who put it together to make it lyrical, a form of poetry. All one has to do is compare that to the Vulgate to see the differences.

However, the basic tenets make sense no matter where they come from. Be nice to one another. Create loving and protective families. Propagate and raise the children wisely.

What more is there?

There is plenty of good stuff in the Bible, no doubt. Unfortunately there is plenty that can be weaponized if taken literally. An example would be using Genesis to deny evolution.

Do you think it possible that from the beginning the gospels were deliberately weaponized fairy tales? They were written by people who witnessed the destruction of Judea, the Temple, their way of life, and the exile, enslavement and slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Jews.. Its not like the authors, masters of the written word, didn't know in advance that it was inevitable that the irrational and superstitious people in the nations of the Roman empire would take the fantastical stories literally..

And then there's this..

"From his mouth there went a sharp sword with which to smite the nations."

And this..

Take from my hand this cup of fiery wine and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it. When they have drunk it they will vomit and go mad; such is the sword that I am sending among them."

Your thoughts?
