amazing response to GOP Rep who said God opposes trans rights: "You used God to enslave my foreparents. You used God to segregate me in schools."

Example, men playing in women’s sports.
Or forcing normal people to pretend that men are women

and even that gets confusing

is a transsexual man really a woman who thinks she’s a man?

or a man pretending to be a woman?

I am oftentimes not sure what the terms mean

What this has come to.

Rep Greene makes a fair point about Christians invoking the Bible to justify slavery

but it was also Christians who envoked God to end slavery

the final stanza of Amazing Grace is a clear example of that

”As He died to make men holy, let us die to mske men free”
“His truth is marching on”

Yet the right still wants to deny rights to people who aren't like them.
The Constitution is based on liberty and low or no taxes. Rights are based on that. It seems that all of the social justice rights are based on an increasingly higher and higher tax nation. It sure seems it is running concurrent with it. Most of the older books and biblical scripture even without a belief in God is based on realities of the time and the realities of today. Only technology makes us so much more self important. I resent being a Democrat in my life and a Republican and an Independent being called a Deplorable and worse. All because I believe in financial responsibility? Most Progs have vengeance towards others for what they put up. Well many Repubs feel the same way. I believe in vengeance towards anyone who screwed with me in life. Enough to affect it. I understand. You will destroy everything and make things a hundred times worse in your agendas.
I have no idea what you were trying to convey just now, but since it seems like it might have been an emotional experience for you, I hope you feel better now.

If they claim to be christians they should be quoting and following the New Testament.

That man quoted the tora or old testament. The book the jewish faith follows.

What it comes down to is, that conservative hates freedom of religion.

He also picks and chooses what part of the bible he wants to follow.

If he wants to follow the tora or old testament, he should convert to judisim.

If he wants to be a politician and create laws for our nation he better leave that bible of his at home and follow our constitution.

Don't completely discount the Bible, Torah, Koran, or any one of many other ancient religious texts. They all contain universal wisdom that applies to us today as much as it did when they were first written. However, we can't base our government on everything that can be found there. Each idea must be evaluated in the light of what is relevant and workable in our society today. We are not a theocracy.

Trans people are mentally ill and need help. Not going along with their mental illness. They have the right to do as they please, but they don't have the right to make me play along. Example, men playing in women’s sports.

Is someone making you play in women's sports?

We only discuss the three "Abrahamic" religions that originated in the Middle East, but the Supreme Creator must have known that His/Her human creations lived all over the world, and would not have neglected any of them. I don't think that we will ever know the extent of the universal wisdom, but we must piece it together from all of recorded human experience. Perhaps non-human, as well. I always wanted to talk to animals. I love stories of primates who learn sign language. intelligent and helpful dolphins, and, of course, our dear dogs and cats. A friend of mine has a wonderful idea: ask them whether they believe in a supreme being. I'd love to know.

Communicating with animals seems a little far out there when discussing wisdom, but I have to believe that universal wisdom is universal. It seems that some animals understand rudimentary concepts, such as loyalty, or even compassion, but I'm not sure how much more they would be able to comprehend.

The first Amendment prohibits any religion being mixed with the government and prohibits the government from putting one religion above another and prohibits religious law from becoming United States law.

Sure there are good things in all spiritual books. I have no problem with those books or anyone following that faith.

What I have a problem with is anyone trying to make the laws of their religion United States law. Which is what that conservative in the video was advocating to do.

I'm not christian. I was a very devout christian at one time. In fact I was part of the original jesus freak movement I the early 70s.

I got over it.

The christian faith is fine. It's a good portion of the followers I have a problem with. They seem to believe that they have the right to force everyone in our nation to be the same christian they are and to live their lives by that christian so called lifestyle.

They very quickly and conveniently forget about that "free will" the christian god gave to humans.

If people want to live their lives according to their faith, go for it. More power to them.

Just don't try to force it on me or the rest of our nation.

On May 1,2020, Texas Parks and Wildlife removed all limits on Crappie in Lake Nasworthy. You can now catch all you want. Is that forcing crappie fishing on Christians?

I am oftentimes not sure what the terms mean

You've been "confused" for most of your life I reckon.
And Identify with Q-Bitch.
