I hadn't realized this. I guess the flight centered around treating a Mexican girl, and they were returning her home.

Mexico’s president has confirmed that the six victims who were on the small medevac jet that crashed in a Philadelphia neighborhood Friday evening were Mexican citizens.

“I regret the death of six Mexicans in the plane crash in Philadelphia. The consular authorities are in permanent contact with the families,” Claudia Sheinbaum wrote on X Saturday morning.

“I have asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to support them in whatever way is required. My solidarity with their loved ones and friends,” she added.

Well yeah, they and the plane came up from Mexico to get some sort of treatment at the Phili hospital for the girl that apparently was all being paid for through the Shriners organization, and they were headed back to Missouri I think then refuel to go back down to Mexico.

But something went horribly wrong with the jet. Same company had a similar jet problem in 2023.

Man taking a selfie at the Philadelphia lear jet crash site, where a tragic accident killed 7 people, including ambulance co-pilot Josue Juarez3

Pilot Alan Montoya and co-pilot Jesús Juárez (pictured) were at the controls of the jet.

What amazed me as a pilot, is that the jet that hit the pavement on a street did not create a crater. Sometimes I offer opinions for the crash. I heard a pilot on TV speak of failed controls. As little remains of the wreckage, it will surprise me if NTSB concludes why it crashed. However they have excellent experts.

It truly puzzles me and I am a pilot. It lurched into a nose down dive and though I never flew a Jet, that might give the NTSB all the clues it needs.

These jets are built of almost nothing, minimal material to make as light as possible, but the data flight recorder and cockpit voice recorder ought to survive and give some details of events leading to the crash.

Here is a still-frame of the jet tumbling as it neared the ground.

I'm thinking maybe catastrophic failure of the fuselage, wing failure or an engine came off, due to gross lack of proper maintenance.

Empty weight of 13,000 pounds /2,000 pounds = 6.5 tons. Are you sure it has a flight recorder and cockpit voice recorder? Wasn't it Registered in Mexico?

Good question. I think most every jet now is required to have some sort of black box by the FAA now, but as far as Mexico is concerned, who can say. A black box takes up valuable space better used for running drugs you know.

Did the Lear Jet originate in Mexico? Was there a language problem? Preliminary evidence indicates that the plane went the opposite direction upon takeoff from the Air Traffic controller's instructions.

I am glad you asked. It originated at Miami. There can't be a language problem since to land or take off from US airports, pilots communicate in English. I believe this is worldwide as a rule. Traffic controllers only instruct what they legally can. The pilot is in command, not the traffic controller. A problem existed as you mention that it was not flying the course it had decided to fly and informed the controller it would.

I never saw a Mexican national who could keep a car running much less a jet plane. What's the deal?

This is a good presentation of the facts known so far.

With the speed of impact, it's odd that there is talk of an aerodynamic stall. The host there believes it's likely spatial disorientation. He obviously knows more than me, but I'm thinking mechanical, the way it descended so fast.
