I've been driven to fatalism by the last few years. The combination of the actual data trends and the commitment that humans seem able to bring to this problem have me convinced that we never had any hope of avoiding this catastrophe. Debating with the fruit cakes here has just been a waste of time, though I can't say what other actions might have been sufficiently effective. The lives of our descendants will be "...poor, nasty, brutish, and short". I think that is the unavoidable fate of any species whose command of technology so outpaces their foresightedness. But, perhaps I just need another cup of coffee.

Do we need to provide the means for non-AGW warming when the ice core record shows an abundance of evidence of this? ... obviously, something other than man-kind can cause, and has caused, these temperature swings ... and until we figure out how, why and when; it's disingenuous to say these natural processes have stopped ...

The normal peak for this cycle was reached between 6000 and 8000 years ago. And the Milankovitch Cycles do not align exactly the same way for every ice age and interglacial. If you actually knew anything about them, you would know that. The peak that we are creating now is solely due to AGW.
