Not good.

Today’s May PPI came in hot:

Headline PPI

  • +1.1% month over month
  • +6.5% year over year
  • Forecast was around +0.7% MoM, so it was a meaningful upside miss.
Core PPI

  • Reuters reports +0.8% MoM excluding food and energy, the highest in over four years.
  • The big driver was energy, with energy prices up about 10.7% in the month.
So the implication is: inflation pressure at the wholesale level is reaccelerating, and this probably pushes the Fed further away from rate cuts.

Sounds like they need to build more data centers and raise taxes to me.

Keep holding your breath.

They need to end Trump's Epstein Diversion in Iran.

Also, the new Fed chair is about to redefine the formula for inflation to make it look lower.

What did you privately expect?

Governments do not operate to produce Truth .

They create the version that has the greatest chance of being believed by the biggest number of Gullibles .

But naturally that is never admitted .
Even second rate Magicians keep their deceptions hidden .

Trump shut down the border. Good for him. In fact, for the first time in 50 years our population will decline. It remains to be seen if that is a good thing. But, that is all he got done.

Inflation, just look around. Trump has made billions, literally, billions. Musk, Bezos, billions. Saudi Arabia, even Russia, billions in oil profits thanks to the war. That money comes from somewhere, mainly our pockets. And now, twenty percent of the population own 80% of the resources, completely unsustainable.

Prices are rising, companies input prices are rising, and wages are not. This is then normal GOP cycle of an economy. Great for big companies raising prices, bad for the people unless they own the company. Rinse repeat. How many economies do the GOP have to ruin before the rubes stop voting for them?

Another loser thread. I'm convinced you leftwingers want to stay poor forever. It's like it's conditioned in you.

In what area is MAGA failing? I see a long row of W's.
A disaster with the war on Iran.

Inflation.

Higher grocery prices.

Gas is a dollar higher than when Trump took office.

Utility bills have skyrocketed.

Health care costs are at record highs.

Our farmers are struggling badly.

Manufacturing jobs are down by 100,000.

You know why politicians like inflation? Because it lowers unemployment. But it is murder on savers and lower income people.

EVERYTHING Trump said he would achieve on Day One, he has instead made much worse.

Now go see a doctor about your profound blindness.

And all the white doing it Republicans like Hafar1014 insist the economy is great. And not just great for the rich, he will cherry pick numbers to suggest labor is doing better right now than they were doing when Biden left office.

We know energy costs are up. Even before the Iran war, ENERGY prices were up. Gas was the only thing Trump had going for him and he doesn't even have that anymore.

Prices were already going to go up this year because of tariffs last year. So how prices haven't gone through the roof is beyond me after the Iran war. It tells me that companies must be taking huge losses. No way companies are handing out raises to workers right now. No way. But Hafar1014 will tell you so.

I don't believe we added jobs last month. They were mostly in hospitality. I'm sure hospitality will lie for Trump since he's in the business. And I seem to remember during the Bush shitty years we added a lot of hospitality jobs too. I don't buy it. I think the middle class is hurting a lot more than they are letting on.

And we could ask the media but right now Trump and his corporate cronies are taking over the media/news. Censorship. The CEO of 60 minutes telling the news guys what they can and can't report. Nothing unflattering to Donald. Don't catch him sleeping at the Knicks game.

Americans are the losers of a 6.5% PPI. The only response you can say is that "hey, 6.5% inflation is worth it for an Iran war" if you believed that. It isnt. The end is now where in sight.

Some Donald Trump supporters utterly torched the president expressing their fury over rising costs and his failure to deliver on campaign promises.

Among them was Annette Dombrowski, a three-time Trump voter from Ohio

She continued: “Wear the clothes, wear the shoes, wear your Walmart clothes, wear your Walmart shoes. Do your thrift store shopping. Don’t eat steaks. I don’t get to go out to dinner.”
“It’s not an overnight thing, but it’s been two years now,” Dombrowski said. “You said you’d bring down the grocery prices. Literally, I must be the most angry person when I grocery shop because I buy the same things every week and I see it jump every week. It is not every couple months, it’s literally every week.”

Or this 3 time Trump voter Asked what message he would send directly to Trump, Tackett replied: “Get it together, man. … You’ve had a year to make it better at this point, make it better. ‘Make America Great Again,’ right?”

A one-time Trump voter, Rob Couch, offered an even blunter assessment.
“**** you,” he said when asked what he’d say to Trump.
“I don’t mean to be disrespectful to any leader, but he’s disrespectful to us and he doesn’t care.”

You Republicans are horrible at running government.
