My wife is now vindicated. She ordered a ton of shoes for us as soon as this tariff stuff started. I had a lot of fun with her about that. Now she laughs last.

They already have duties on imported shoes, was around 6% for leather imports and 37% for fabric, and certain manmade materials. Adidas pays US taxes and has a US headquarters, with tons of Americans employed in the USA. They bought out Reebok and Rockport a decade or two ago and employ their employees as well, here in the USA... though reduced.

The US government screwed the shoe manufacturers in the USA back in the 80s when they opened US Trade for shoes in China and worldwide. The shoe industry here BEGGED the govt to put caps on how many shoes the USA could import a year....to give the USA the ability for US manufacturing to survive.

The govt said NO, WE WILL NOT help you, and the whole U.S. shoe industry went bankrupt and died in the USA.....
