Over there
"One day, problems arose in one big, big country.
Riots broke out on its southern borders, in a neighboring country, and part of the northeastern territories declared independence from this southern country. They had close ties with a big northern neighbor, one language and one vision of the future for themselves and their children. But in the Southern Country they were denied equal rights and the opportunity to speak their native language and do business with their fellow tribesmen in the north.

The southern country refused to recognize the independence of the northeast and launched a military operation, calling the people living there rebels and separatists.

Volunteers were traveling from the north to the rebellious lands, food supplies and the removal of refugees were going on. The leadership of the northern country refused to recognize the independence of the neighbor's territories and take them into its own country, fearing military action and deterioration of relations with the whole world.

But, eight years have passed and nothing has changed.
The Northeastern Territories continued to consider themselves independent of their former master, the Southern Country. The Northern country, seeing that the situation was not being resolved, decided to recognize the territories and accept them as part of its own.

Then the southern neighbor blocked the water to the northeastern territories and blocked trade.

The society of the Northern Country has split.
Someone shouted that it was time to punish these damned southerners, and someone said that we did not need these northeastern territories at all and should not quarrel with the entire civilized world because of them. The parties of Democrats and Conservatives were divided, relatives cursed each other and only the army, faithful to duty and order…
And under the banner of the glorious General Taylor, she left Corpus Christi and crossed the Rio Grande! At the same time, the valiant US navy established a blockade of Mexican ports!

So the Mexican-American War of 1846-1848 began:)

As a result, Mexico lost 55% of its territory, and the territories of modern states — California, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and Utah - passed to the United States.
The northeastern rebel territory, as you probably guessed, was the modern state of Texas.
The incident led to serious reforms of society in Mexico. In particular, to abolish the persecution of Protestants in an officially Catholic country. In the USA, the history of the Mexican-American War of 1846-48 is a matter of pride and no one disputes the sovereignty of the modern USA over Texas and the rest of the southern territories. Trade restrictions were lifted from the United States by the whole world about three years after the end of the conflict.

If it seems to you that something has never happened in the world, it has happened many times
And if you are suddenly ashamed of the actions of Russia now, be ashamed of the actions of the United States then. I think it's even worth demanding that they return six states back to Mexico. Maybe they will listen to you, but that's not for sure"

Coming from a Russkie, the statement "Russia's war with Ukraine" says something to me.

Don't you mean "Ukraine's war with Russia"? Aren't you the ones always saying Ukraine is the "aggressor"?

Russia is losing. And they're getting weapons from..... IRAN! LOLOLOL! The biggest losers in the Middle East.

Colonial wars are a thing of the past, or at least they should be. The world is settled and wars of conquest do not work anymore.

Many Americans know nothing of the Mexican-American War. All they know is what they were told in third grade government school, which doesn’t tell them the truth.

So naturally, they can’t see the hypocrisy of their beliefs.

No, the similarity is almost 100%
The similarities don’t stop with the Mexican American War. Most of America’s wars hold similarities. The US became an imperialist power in the 19th century and continued to this day.

As far as anyone know, there's hasn't been an official "declaration" of war between any of you Goobers, Russia or Ukraine.

"No formal declaration of war has been issued in the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War. When the Kremlin announced the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, it claimed to commence a "special military operation", side-stepping a formal declaration of war.[64] The statement was, however, regarded as a declaration of war by the Ukrainian government[65] and reported as such by many international news sources.[66][67] While the Ukrainian parliament refers to Russia as a "terrorist state" in regards to its military actions in Ukraine,[68] it has not issued a formal declaration of war on its behalf."

Tell me about at least one declaration of war by the USA after WWII. And there were plenty of them including the USA. It seems to me that the USA has created a fashion for "police operations"

The drones that Russia got from Iran looked made out of plastic, were they from Toy R Us?
American manufacturers would have made them out of the same plastic and presented the Pentagon with a price as for those made of gold and diamonds. That is why, by the way, Russia does not need such a huge military budget that feeds thieves in the United States.

US still holds 6 states, that were created on the land taken from Mexico by force.
The land was paid for after the war.the Mexicans never paid the Spaniards, who certainly never paid the Mayans and the other tribes they took the land from.

Actually, that is not even close to correct. Especially with that map, which is showing Texas as still part of Mexico. That had broken away into the Republic of Texas over a decade before.

And you can also remove California. That had revolted long before any US forces arrived in what is known as the "Bear Flag Revolt". Hell, even the Mexican Governor Mariano Vallejo supported the revolt, and it was largely bloodless as most despised the Mexican government and welcomed independence.

You seem to be throwing together several revolts in Mexico and mashing them all into the Mexican-American War.

And at the same time completely ignoring the great hatred most Mexicans had for their President. Antonio de Padua María Severino López de Santa Anna y Pérez de Lebrón. Or as is commonly taught in history books, "General Santa Anna". Who was President of Mexico a staggering 7 different times. Never legitimately, and the citizens of Mexico (especially the most distant territories) were fed up of that. The country was almost constantly in rebellion even before it broke away from Spain. Heck, the government that went to war with the US in 1846 was not even the government that ended the war. There were multiple revolutions while Santa Anna was in the field inside of Mexico.

Hell, the capitol of Mexico City fell in October 1847, and it took until February 1848 until the "newest" Mexican Government could exert enough control to finally put an end to a war that in reality had ended months earlier. And most of the territory they gave up that had not already left Mexico was worthless and barely inhabited at the time. Utah had far more Canadian and American trappers than Mexican Citizens when it was turned over. The same with Nevada and New Mexico.

Fact is, since Mexico broke away from Spain in 1821, for their first century there were almost in a constant state of revolt and revolution. It was so bad that France even tried to stabilize it by installing an Austrian Archduke Emperor as a way to ending the constant chaos.

The land was paid for after the war.
I'm glad you mentioned it. I want to give similar examples from the history of Russia.
In 1721, Russia, after defeating Sweden, in a long, difficult war for access to the Baltic Sea, concluded the Nishtadt Peace Treaty, according to which the territories of Estonia, Latvia and parts of Lithuania were transferred to Russia. Under the terms of the agreement, Russia (the winning side) paid Sweden 2 million silver thalers, which was approximately 56 tons of silver or half of Russia's annual budget. With this money, it would be possible to build a mighty fleet of 56 battleships. By the way, the Swedes seized these lands without paying money to anyone.
Nevertheless, for some reason the USA considers the Baltic Republics independent! In the territories that were received from Mexico, they do not consider them similar... Well, this is a common example of the natural hypocrisy of American politics. Why natural? It is impossible not to be a hypocrite, claiming freedom and equality rights, while continuing to own slaves.
In 1667, under the terms of the Andrusov Truce, after 13 years of war between Russia and Poland, the territory of Ukraine along the left bank of the Dnieper was ceded to Russia.
The war was preceded by a popular uprising in Ukraine against Polish oppression and 16 embassies to Moscow with a request to join Russia. Joining meant war with Poland, but Russia still went to it based on their close kinship and religious ties of the people of Russia and Ukraine and a common history. Under the terms of the peace, Russia also paid Poland 146 thousand rubles for Kiev, which was located on the right side of the Dnieper.
It is unclear to me, why the United States is helping now the ukrainian separatists with weapons in their illegal war with Russia? After all, the United States is so fond of observing ancient treaties!

P.S. BTW ,for some reason, Ulysses Grant, who served under Scott's command in Mexican war, called this US-Mexico war a malicious war that brought down the punishment of heaven on the United States in the form of a civil war:
"The Southern uprising was largely the germination of the Mexican War. Nations, like people, are punished for their sins. We received our punishment in the bloodiest and most expensive war of modern times."

Colonial wars, where countries go far away and take land is over, but things aren't as settled as they seem.
