This is likely the most meaningful piece of writing you'll read as of late. Someone had mentioned 'the bigger picture' with regard to American interests in another thread. Opinions certainly vary on what that is and are fully dependent on one's own interest in such discussion. I, for one, tend to equate American interests to the interest of actual Americans in salvaging what's left of the Republic. Because the multi-national corporations profitting from endless warfare have no loyalty whatsoever to America. Their interests actually lie in you having a leash tied around your neck and a government gun aimed at you every tax season to pay the principal plus interest on all of that money that got printed and funneled their way to keep the wars, and ultimately the failed monetary policy, business as usual.

Anyway....

''....Today, Americans have a tremendous opportunity to restore these two fundamental founding principles to our country. There is no possibility of any nation-state invading and conquering the United States in the near term. No nation-state, including Russia and China, have the money, armaments, troops, supply lines, ability, or even the interest of crossing the oceans and successfully invading and occupying our nation. This gives us a window of opportunity to restore these two founding principles to our land.

Obviously, the restoration of these two founding principles would not be in the interests of the Pentagon, the CIA, and the NSA, along with their massive army of “defense” contractors and subcontractors who have long fed at the public trough. It is in their interest that America continue to be besieged by an endless array of foreign-policy crises and an ever-growing list of scary foreign-policy monsters. In that way, they can continue to convince the American people to continue business as usual in foreign affairs.

That’s what the current crises with China and Russia are all about. It’s what the Cold War was all about. It’s what the current revival of the Cold War is all about. It’s what the 9/11 attacks were all about. It’s what the war on terrorism is all about. It’s what the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq were all about. It’s what the deadly sanctions against Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, and others are all about. It’s what the trade war against China is all about. As long as the Pentagon and the CIA can continue stirring up crises and chaos around the world, along with a growing and shifting array of official enemies (or opponents, rivals, or adversaries), such as communists, terrorists, Muslims, Iran, Syria, ISIS, China, Russia, Venezuela, and Cuba, they can frighten Americans into continuing business as usual.

Meanwhile, with each new crisis, Americans lose more of their rights and liberties to the national-security establishment. That’s what the USA PATRIOT Act, the NSA’s massive secret surveillance schemes, the power of engaging in state-sponsored torture, assassinations, indefinite detention, and denial of due process of law (including of American citizens), and other violations of civil liberties are all about....''

Introspection?????.You are asking way too much for this board to handle

Introspection?????.You are asking way too much for this board to handle

Well, I never have cared for the rule about having to add a link to an op.

Kind of contradicts the very notion of introspection, doesn't it? People wanna be led, I suppose. Or, more clearly, perhaps it's just that some people prefer that people are led. Maybe that's a better way of placing it into perspective. As it is, anyone who generally demonstrates that he or she is capable of thinking for himself or herself is often seen as dangerous to the status quo and therefore discouraged in some remedial, manageable, dare I say clerical way.

Ah well. I thought it was a relevant piece of writing, none the less.

well for the Biden lovers that indeed is correct and no you Demonrats,I am not a republican,I have spoken many times how evil and corrupt Bush is over the years. :2up: everyone that knows me knows I have always said both parties are corrupt and one in the same and Trump is the first president in DECADES not part of that corrupt two party system that serves the interests of the elite instead of the people, thats why the elite hate trump from BOTH parties.

the elite declared war against us americans on 9/11 when they murdered 3000 Americans, world war three started then with the patriot act that Bush signed and Obama later expanded on.

They don't have to eorry about taking over .It is not important to them they are just replacing us with the third world which can be corralled and will do what they want for free benefits.
Socialist have won and already outnumber the rest of us. They have taken away our free speech .
We just try to do what we can till they knock at the door. There was a war for American's souls and we lost it years ago with complacency and apathy. All empires fall so nothing new.
I do feel really bad for the young people who are being indoctrinated by TPTB. I have lots of grand kids and great grand kids who will suffer but guess its just fate, don't know.

Well, the purpose of the thread wasn't to insult anyone's intellect. Heck knows I've much to learn myself.

The topical content was really just kind of a reminder of what the bigger picture really should be. So often the true bigger picture gets lost in all of the flotsam and jetsam floating around, leftover by competing interests whose bigger picture lies in blocking the view to what is meaningful in the more critical sense.

He doesn't say what the two extremely important "fundamental principles " are.

lol

Sure he does.

First, restore America’s founding foreign policy of non-interventionism.

Second, restore America’s founding governmental system of a limited-government republic.

Don't you read good?

Introspection????? You are asking way too much...

Perhaps you're right, in some instances. Apparently, Otis can't even read.

To be introspective, one has to realize their strengths, weaknesses, faults and such imho

Few libturds have the senses to do that

Ah well. I thought it was a relevant piece of writing, none the less.
I agree with you. In fact, I think there's nothing in the future of this nation that could be more relevant. The course we're on cannot be sustained and when we do falter, it's going to be potentially fatal. The problem is that we can turn inward and try to fix what's wrong only AFTER we break the stranglehold the power brokers have on all our institutions. I think we may be too late for that, short of armed conflict.

Anyone who wants evidence of how ready the corrupt core of this nation's government is to protect ITSELF from the citizens it claims to govern and serve, need look no further than the 700 Americans who've been given sentences or have been held indefinitely for a rowdy protest. How DARE they sully the buildings they paid for? These criminals in DC have reached the point where they don't even try to behave as if they didn't think they were a superior class.

There has been an effort over the past few years to create support in state legislatures for an Article V convention of the states. Some erroneously refer to it as another "Constitutional Convention but I won't get into that. The bottom line is that while I think it is a waste of time, I also agree that it should be attempted. The only way for it to work would be for at least 34 states to agree to call the convention and for 38 states to vote yes to approve whatever changes to the Constitution that are desired.

I was excited to first become aware of the ability of a supermajority of state legislatures to have the power to change the Constitution without Congress-critters votes. Term limits, for example, will NEVER be done by Congress. After watching how DC threw up their defenses and used the media and courts to attempt to destroy the outsider who was elected without THEIR imprimatur, I no longer believe the CoS is a viable option.
Those in the nation with the money and power would have a very easy job pressuring average Americans who serve in state legislatures, to refuse to vote for change. Remember, it would only take a handful of strategically placed "nos" to stop the changes.

Does ANYONE doubt that they'd target a few, even with threats, if they wouldn't meet the demand of the DC crowd? Hell, at that level of risk to their power, they'd cheerfully kill. IMO, the last resort is going to be to develop a parallel government that is informal but which will serve local communities and states. It will require enough courageous citizens standing against DC by simply refusing to obey any laws that are passed by an illegitimate government, then doing so in large enough numbers that they could not imprison them. That CAN be accomplished if they're able to organize in advance.
