One of the core failures in the founders vision was in how congress would jealously protect their powers. They were incorrect, the legislative branch has hand no problem shoveling off its core powers to the president so they would have as little to deal with as possible so they would have as little to answer for their campaigns.

The legislative branch was supposed to be the most powerful and therefore was the most divided.

The Founding Fathers who are smeared by Progressives 24 hours a day, warned us about many things. They built checks and balances into the constitution. They warned about foreign entanglements. They put in safeguards to stop income taxes from becoming law. We have abused all of that. Ironically, they made the Constitution because the true document of freedom was the Articles of Confederation. Even a small government needed revenues somehow and that document did not help it. Today if you add federal, state, city and local governments together, we are somewhere around 50% taxed or socialist. It may be more. It is uneven though. There are those who got it, and those who do not. Education may mean nothing over wages in privileged unionized work as an example. Post WW 2 we had a quarter century run on that. And we gave it all up eventually when feminism, quotas, affirmative action, diversity was put into high gear as the era of dominant manufacturing was ebbing. As the social agendas kept expanding into extremism, we even made trade deals to box up our manufacturing and send it overseas. So now a good percentage of the population gets checks and benefits while not doing much of anything. And that does not mean it can last forever. World events could disrupt it.

Israel is now attacking Iran. It's safe to say there is now a full scale regional war in the Middle East. This is bound to spread to encompass the Yemeni civil war, and possibly the Syrian civil war. North Korea has deployed forces to Russia and will be actively engaged against Ukraine within days. Mainland China is champing at the bit to invade Taiwan. But where will the United States be as this all unfolds?

The new Axis will run through Iran, Russia, China, and North Korea. Taiwan, then South Korea, will be invaded, and China will become directly involved against Ukraine. The Assad regime may join in against Israel, mostly as a bargaining tool to solicit help from the axis against its own internal foes. While Israel, Taiwan, and Ukraine are fighting against the new Axis, Turkey will recognize a possible opportunity to continue expanding their influence over former Ottoman territories in the future aftermath, and will very possibly look for an opportunity to be "dragged" into the fighting.

But where will the United States be as this all unfolds? Once upon a time, there would be no question about this. Now, it's not so clear.
