A song criticizing draft dodgers played numerous times at DC Military Parade

Lucky I'm not a Democrat then.

The problem is Trump is acting like he's Army or some shit.

And yes, like you I think getting out of the draft isn't such a bad idea. However, if you have that viewpoint, don't then come at me with the whole "We need an army parade" and all that guff.
Well it was a 250 year B Day, so it served dual purposes. There is nothing wrong with celebrating your soldiers, is there? I mean really. You have parades for all kinds of reasons, the military shouldnt be at the bottom of that list.

All politician act like they support the military during certain times of the year. Otherwise they don't give a shit the rest of the time.

The US military has over 2 million members and 16 million veterans that's a huge voter pool for the politicians to pay lip service to.

I honestly do not give a shit that it was Trumps birthday for me June 14 is the birth date of the US Army. An organization that I proudly served in as did my Father and his Father before him.

Was Trump celebrating the soldiers? Or just trying to get army people on his side for some reason or other?

Trump pushed this, no one else. Why didn't the navy or marines get one?

Of course they do, however Trump gets criticism because of what he's said in the past and the way he's acted in the past, and because people wonder why on earth he's doing a parade, something that isn't very American.

250th Anniversary of the US Army.

You know the US Army was founded on the 14 June 1775 and the US Navy on the 13 October 1775 and the Marines on the 10 November 1775????

So will we have parades for those? And was there a parade for the 200th anniversary?

Any military parades for things like this?

All services have some type of celebrations and I would have no issue with the Navy and Marines having similar parades on their anniversaries. My family has served in every branch of the military.

Some kind? Why not just do one for all branches?

Because each branch should be recognized individually for their service to this country, and I have no problem with that as someone who actually served (Army). So, in your scenario, when should that parade for the branches take place?

"Was Someone Trolling Trump by Playing Creedence’s Draft-Dodger-Slamming ‘Fortunate Son’ at His Military Parade? Or Is It Just the Further Death of Irony?"

"That’s the question some were asking on social media after the event, spearheaded by President Donald J. Trump, which featured the repeated playing of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s classic “Fortunate Son” — a song that virtually the entire world knows by now was written during the Vietnam era as a slam against wealthy draft dodgers."

Or do you think Trump had it chosen just so he could rub it in the military's face and have a laugh at them?
/—-/ Wealthy Son was about Sl Gore Jr. Trump didn’t dodge the draft.

Trump was never the son of any senator.
In the song, it brings up the senator's son, the millionaire's son, and a military's son. CNM should've brought up the second one from the list, but there were plenty of people who used some kind of influence & college to either avoid getting drafted altogether or be placed in some cushy unit that didn't have much of a threat of being called into combat.

Will that happen? Probably not. One was on Trump's birthday, the others aren't

She sounds exactly like the propagandists on CNN. Seriously, every distortion, every petty insult, word for word. That’s the level of propaganda the left has been subject to.

You said that there should've been one parade for the Army, Navy, & Marines. I asked you when should that hypothetical parade happen. That post doesn't answer the question at all. Since it can't happen, do you think that the Navy and Marines should have a parade at all? Try and actually answer the question this time.

Probably nobody pays attention to the lyrics of songs, like Born in the USA, where everyone plays that at patriotic events..not realizing the song is a protest against the Vietnam war..
