Trump wants a Parade to commemorate the Army's 250th Anniversary--quite appropriate and proper. It would be unthinkable to not recognize that.

June 14, that anniversary, also happens to be Trump's 79th birthday. He didn't pick his birthday and he has joked about a parade in his honor on his birthday.

If he didn't commemorate that anniversary you people would probably be back to your equally dishonest mantra of "he hates/disrespects the military."

Apparently so. Even the thread title is intellectually dishonest. Trump was one of millions of young men receiving college deferments during the Vietnam War--young men from all income classes--because they did not want to delay their education.

Nobody knows for sure what Trump's medical condition was when he received one 1-Y deferment for heel spurs. "Not a big problem" he is quoted as saying, "But big enough to merit a deferment."

Contrary to dishonest media spin he was not playing ANY sports during his time at Wharton.

When I was in the Marines, November 10 was damned near a Federal Holiday as far as we were concerned. Half day or no day work, and the Marine Corps Ball that night. And the next day will be off, as too many would be hungover.

But when I joined the Army, literally nobody cared about 14 June. No celebration, no big party that night, nothing. It was simply another day as far as they are concerned.
