A song criticizing draft dodgers played numerous times at DC Military Parade

Oh? How about billy boy? There are a whole host of politicians who never served.
I haven't seen too many excuses for his behaviour. Perhaps being a Rhodes Scholar will do that. I don't admire Clinton, he sold low income America down the river.

Chump didn't have that avenue open to him, he needed his father's pet doctor to write him notes after his four college deferments.

Besides, he knows more about the military than anyone.

Blumenthal with his stolen valor, same for Walz, Joey bribem never served, you didn't seem to give a tinkers damn about that so your opinion is irrelevant.

WHEN THE ELITE DODGES THE DRAFT ??????
Where does it say that? I know the song pretty well and it doesn't mention draft dodging anywhere.

Funny, calling Trump a draft dodger, yet here he is, on his way to sacrificing 8 years of his life for his country.

Pahaha! How entertaining! There he is, actually serving his country!

Well I suppose it would be if they had played 'Fortunate Son' at their ego driven birthday parade.
But they didn't.
So Chump's narcissism and his self love for surviving the sexual war are valid targets for mockery.

The parade was for the ARMY, not Trump, you loon.

Just how fucking stupid do you have to pretend to be?

It's about how the elite send the poor off to die in wars they won't fight in themselves.

Oh. MAGA. Rhetorical question.

Oh. MAGA. Rhetorical question.
Show the lyrics that say that.

Doubling down.

Very MAGA.
Still can't present the lyrics that support your claim huh....

Yup, you're certainly doubling down.

Carry on!

"Was Someone Trolling Trump by Playing Creedence’s Draft-Dodger-Slamming ‘Fortunate Son’ at His Military Parade? Or Is It Just the Further Death of Irony?"

"That’s the question some were asking on social media after the event, spearheaded by President Donald J. Trump, which featured the repeated playing of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s classic “Fortunate Son” — a song that virtually the entire world knows by now was written during the Vietnam era as a slam against wealthy draft dodgers."

Or do you think Trump had it chosen just so he could rub it in the military's face and have a laugh at them?
It was for Muhammad Ali

Fortune Son isn't about draft dodging

What a stupid thread

You do know that Biden had as many deferments as Trump and I'm not even sure how the fuck Clinton got out of going to Vietnam. My Father and two of his brothers joined up to go. My Maternal Grandfather was a lifer and did two tours before he retired.

I am vehemently opposed to the draft and do not give a shit if someone "dodged" it. The US military is as powerful as it is because we have an all volunteer professional force. The only time I give my opinion is when hypocrites single out individuals for criticism simple because they do not agree with their politics.

Yeah, right.
Westwall.... fuck me, at least he's not a mod any more...

Who suggested the idea of the parade? Er... Trump.

He wanted one in 2018 but didn't because of cost.

Neither the Marines nor the Navy, also 250 years old, are getting anything.

It's a great song and I never interpreted as a draft dodger song tbh. I viewed it as an anti-war song and a statement against the elite. Perhaps an ironic song for the occassion but CCR represent good southern rock and I've not heard anyone ever say they disliked that song.
I think they where considered swamp rock which is funny because the band was from California.

Lucky I'm not a Democrat then.

The problem is Trump is acting like he's Army or some shit.

And yes, like you I think getting out of the draft isn't such a bad idea. However, if you have that viewpoint, don't then come at me with the whole "We need an army parade" and all that guff.
