The 14th Amendment prevents any government discrimination, and when you are open to the public, it is under government license.
So discriminating against anyone is inherently illegal.
The only way you could defend discrimination is if it was necessary in order to defend the rights of others.
That is what allows places of business to require shoes or other attire.

That also allows businesses to require mask wearing and/or proof of vaccination in their place of business, if they choose to do so.
