Zone1 a mystery...until you see yourself through Christ

I never did like saying it that way because it's not in the affirmative. It doesn't tell you what they believe. It tells you what they don't believe. The affirmative way of saying it is that atheists only believe in a material existence. That there is nothing beyond the material world. Which is where it gets hard for them. Of course there is something beyond the material world. It would be idiotic to believe there was nothing beyond the material world. Science says there is something beyond the material world. Science just can't define what it is. That is the realm of philosophy.
I hear you, but I still prefer "No belief in God" because it clearly defines what is missing from their perspective of life/existence--and that they are okay with the emptiness.

What emptiness??? my life has been full of surprises, action, family, friends, downfalls, achievements and entertainment. So I don't need some self-written religious book to find my meaning or fulfillment in life. Only an empty person leading a frustrated life and doesn't know how to use and enhance his brain - gets himself into seeking refuge in religion.

Are they though? Isn't that why the ones posting here are posting here? Because they aren't OK with it?

It's not the book. It's God. Why are you conflating religion with God? Religion doesn't bring peace. God does,.

The relationship you could have with God.
Only for believers - Atheists don't look for a relationship to something that doesn't exist
No one is suggesting you have a relationship with a book! I often suggest that people should seek and find God before they start reading.
If "future believers" aka kids wouldn't be "indoctrinated" via their environment, school and church - they wouldn't even know about that book - nor would they be looking for a God.
Maybe YOU should give it a try, to handle your life by yourself??

Maybe YOU should give it a try, to handle your life by yourself??
How are you imagining having God one's life is like? For example, are you suggesting that when I had appendicitis, I should have handled that myself, giving myself the appendectomy? Perhaps learning to cook without any recipes? How about gardening? No advice on that, either? No need for teachers, books, schools, of course. Everyone can figure it out on their own.

Maybe you should try designing and sewing your own clothes by yourself. You can submit your report on how that went in a day or two.

My point is, you do not have a clue about including God in your life, have you?

It has been said, Man is a mystery to himself until he sees himself through Christ.
Is this the same chap that was taken alive off the Cross , helped to recover mainly by Simon Magus and preached until ca.AD 60 managing to have three children with his wife Mary?

Or are you going to claim that the Dead Sea scrolls were all produced by scammers working in league with each other .

Any more Conspiracy beliefs?

No.

What a nonsense post- really!!

If you don't know or can't do something on your own - see a learned expert or someone who knows.
Aka if someone has appendicitis - go see a doctor. A priest, reading the bible, or praying to God, won't help you in that matter.

You got some psychological issue? - loneliness, why am I here?, nobody loves me, why is the world so cruel?- take some grass, or see a priest or your favorite politician- same effect resp. same outcome - you will feel better. Next day you most likely will be plagued by the same issues. But you can also find those answers by yourself - just make use, of what scientists call a brain.

So what do I need a God for, or in my life??? - aka some fictional being that doesn't even exist.
Does your God tell you how to get rid of that speeding ticket? or why you got terminal cancer? Did he tell you why he allows for wars or natural catastrophes? why was it raining yesterday instead of him making sunshine?

Your post only proofs to me - that only the mental weak, are in need for religion.
Since there are obviously loads of such people on our planet - religion has always been a damn profitable business.

So - if a person can't handle ones simplistic earthly life by himself - feel free to see a priest, read the bible or go to a mass, still better than to jump from some building.

How better to respond to this nonsense....
Maybe YOU should give it a try, to handle your life by yourself??
....than with nonsense since that is the language you seem to speak.

You have no knowledge, no belief in God which means speaking of God and Ways of God out of ignorance. I did make my point, and you respond with bluster.

You are running away from the central issue - obvious as obvious can be - just look at your nonsense post #68 and #73

And I don't even blame you for that, since you are a very mental-weak person, that therefore is in desperate need for religion.
So sell your "Watchtower" to people like yourself.

I see no difference in mental toughness or intelligence between the devoutly religious, atheists, deists and Agnostics.
You confuse "fanaticism" or "helplessness" displayed/expressed by a mental weak person who therefore needs religion, with a "trained" mental strength of a person that can therefore handle his life without being in need for religion.

You know so little. I've never even read Watchtower. How much do you pay for one? Out of curiosity, is Watchtower where you are getting your information? Secondly, How did you reach your conclusion that people of faith are weak-minded? How are people of faith different from you? What do they do that is different from what you do?

I know so much unlike you - that's why I can even invite a pair of them into my house - and they will start running off within 10min. Screaming that Satan lives here. Even though one pair - were real nice and helpful people (He used to repair my car for free even on Sundays) - but both also happened to be extremely weak minded if not to say naive.

Just read up post #71

I don't know who came to see you, but with me it was Jehovah's witnesses. These witnesses had a kind of gloomy, pessimistic approach, kind of doomsday. I enthusiastically responded with joyful, optimistic assurances which caught the attention of the younger of two. The older one noticed, and hustled them away. Someone told me later they heard my address was marked off their list. The same thing happened in the next town we moved to--but I never heard if we were removed from that list, too. No one has ever returned.

The difference between our two accounts is that these people never ran off screaming about Satan. The older one thanked me politely, and hustled off with the younger one. I was sorry I made such a bad impression. (Since you also have a bad impression of me, I'm sure you can understand. ;) And no, I did not re-read Post 71. When I read it the first time, I reminded myself my love analogies doesn't work for many. Analogies have this horrible habit of failing at some point, but I love using them anyway. I truly am sorry they annoyed you. )

Nothing gloomy - about either of those two pairs. Factually very relaxed and happy about finding entrance.

But I know what you mean - they are under extreme pressure by their church and brainwashed into standing around for ever no matter the weather, till they get rid of their watchtower newspaper or fulfill other quotas, in order to save their own souls. These people indeed (understandably) have that gloomy look.

The first pair - I told them simply what I tell any annoying religious person, via simply citing pages in the Bible and asking them for an explanation - once they get stuck (they all do) I tell them what the BIBLE is factually saying - and they all walk off. But this pair of Jehovah's Witnesses factually ran & screamed - oh my God this is the Satan's house - much to my delight, I freely admit.

The second pair (the car guy) - I took their Kiddie Colored Bible - said thank you, and brought on the coffee and cake. Off course they couldn't resist getting into religion, so I told them I am longtime Buddhist (never been), and I made them agreeable that Christianity and Buddhism are more or less the same thing and we all pray to the same God , then they asked me if I do belief in God - and I answered off course who doesn't, two hours later they left in a good mood - and I was a couple of weeks later luckily commandeered to another unit far away. - but yeah I missed that car repair guy.

No you don't annoy me at all - I just find it rather noticeable that many people need religion and a God to get on with their lives.
