Yeah, as a single earner, I supported my family and bought health care coverage for my children. It's what we're supposed to do.

So instead of paying for my family of four, I end up paying for six, two of whom are getting medicaid benefits. My health care premiums, deductables, and out-of-pocket limits skyrocketed when the ACA was passed. It was all over the news, with people's prices increasing by double digit percentages; some people's costs even doubled.

Medicaid is supposed to be for the truly disabled and people who cannot provide for themselves. It costs in excess of $600B per year (2017 data from Wiki). That's $1800 per US inhabitant, or $4000 per working person.
