30 meters is about 25 meters beyond what most people can hit accurately with a pistol at.He must not have been a very good shot. I was showing off for my son, on a 50 meter range when he was zeroing his AR15. I put 11 of 15 on an 8x10 copy paper stable on the lane next to his zero target. He was surprised at the hit and how fast I put them down range with my Walther PPQ-M2, I was carrying, just because I carry. True, I was all over the paper, so the pattern was nothing to brag about.30 meters is about 25 meters beyond what most people can hit accurately with a pistol at.
Typical self defense shooting range is almost always from contact to 12 or 15 feet which is about 4-4.5 yards with most occurring at under 4'.

To qualify as an NRA pistol instructor you have to put 9 of 12 shot in a 6" circle at 40 feet on two consecutive targets.30 meters is almost 100 feet. That's a pretty fair distance even for someone engaged in just target shooting...
