That was a notable headline in today's WAPO.

It's easy to smugly say....."the price of loyalty", but of course, it is more complicated than that.
The Big Lie is at the root of all those convicted believers. They believed it. They couldn't prove it. Nobody has. But they believed it.

And worse, they committed crimes in advancing the Big Lie.

And, as we know, many of those convicted blame Don Trump for their predictment. They think he conned them. And now they are on the hook for their own bad behavior in believing and acting upon that con.

Here's a taster of the article. You can read the whole enchilada in your subscription to the Washington Post:

"Trump’s 2020 crusade has led to 700 years in prison sentences"

"
Tarrio and other high-profile defendants involved in the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, have often confronted their legal fate by pointing a finger at Trump. Tarrio’s lawyer called his client a “scapegoat for Donald J. Trump and for those in power.” A lawyer for fellow Proud Boy Joseph Biggs said that the group’s “commander-in-chief” — Trump — “sold them a lie.” A lawyer for a third Proud Boy, Zachary Rehl, argued that “certainly believing the commander-in-chief and heeding his call should yield some measure of mitigation” in Rehl’s sentencing.

Trump’s having played at least some role in so many people going to prison for so many years has thus far been treated gingerly by his fellow Republicans. That’s in part because they’ve shied away from judging his actions too harshly for fear of alienating the Trump-backing base.…….Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s campaign toyed with the idea of attacking Trump on these terms.

A spokeswoman for DeSantis (R) repeatedly advanced the idea that Trump had landed supposedly unsuspecting people in prison. One post she promoted accused Trump of “a multi-year grift based on a lie that bilked millions of Trump supporters out of more than $250 million of their hard-earned money and got hundreds jailed.”

So there is that.

Mr Navarro waas found guilty today. You need to add in his 2 years.

It's ironic although the mainstream media is incapable of acknowledging irony that the only fatality in the Jan 6 demonstration was the cold blooded killing of an unarmed demonstrator who posed no threat. She deserved it?

700 years for wrongthink
Well, poster ECB, I ain't gonna argue there was some 'wrongthink' going on in the J6Jackass Attack. However, the game hinged upon 'wrongdoing'.

A mom and pop demonstration?
Yeah, Moms & Pops savagely beat and injured 140+ uniformed officers.

THAT....would make for tough and abusive parenting. No?

She deserved it?
Well, yeah, criminal suspects defying armed officers with gun pointed, and then charging towards the police after being warned not to...... can be said to have clearly made a potentially fatal individual choice.

Babbitt voluntarily put herself into a no-win stand-your-ground self-defense shooting.

MAGA!!

Some of the convicted weren't even there. But they did think about it.

Another woman was beaten to death by a capital police woman that day.

Here's an opportunity assignment, poster MAGA. A chance to shine. To whirl & twirl.

.You alleged it.
So, prove it
You prove it to the forum.

Giddyup! Go!

Just curious, how many of the insurrectionist has Trump helped?
Let's put it the correct way. Why is Joe and the gang pulling a dictatorial edict. Who knows? Perhaps one day there will remembrances for this from those no good deplorables like the Selma bridge.

The support of Banana Republic tactics by a globalist rag like the WP only shows what how far we have gone from the promise of America. We now live under a fascist rule.
