S.2450 - 113th Congress (2013-2014): Veterans' Access to Care through Choice, Accountability, and Transparency Act of 2014
Sponsor: Sen. Sanders, Bernard [I-VT] (Introduced 06/09/2014)
Latest Action: There is no latest action for this bill
Notes: For further action, see H.R.3230, which became Public Law 113-146 on 8/7/2014.

A bill from Bernie Sanders? Don't tell me Republicans are trying to take credit for it.

Then in you other link, go down through the list of states and see how the benefits differ. Especially Wisconsin. Here, let me help:

Under the Wisconsin G.I. Bill Tuition Remission Program for Dependents, 100 percent of tuition is awarded to qualifying dependents. Veterans Education (VetEd) reimbursement grants are available to veterans who already applied for Wisconsin GI Bill benefits and provide tuition reimbursement based on years of active duty service.

Do you see that? "REIMBURSEMENT"! Do you know what that means? It means you have to pay the cost first and then you can get reimbursement later. But they don't have the money to pay in the first place. Sneaky. It's the GOP's way of pretending to help but only helping those who already have the money to pay.

We have had what? Eighty plus years to correct the problem and on
Y now does anyone try to correct it?

Again, both parties have failed the military for decades. It is a government issue not a party issue. My dad fought in WWII in Germany in battle and was not eligible for benefits, because he was a month short of two years. Honorably discharged, got medals for killing and capturing German soldiers but was indelible because of being under two years. They government has had decades to fix issues and chose not to. I don't care if you are a republican or a democrat, you ignored outer troops for decades.

So take your partisan bullshit and stick it. My father served his country and lawmakers didn't give a fuck what happened to him afterwards.

Your Father would have the right to make your comments. You don't. My Father served in WWII and Korea, My Uncles did as well. My Grandfather and his brothers served in WWI. I served for 20 years, myself. For one that hasn't paid the price, you certainly are mouthy.

Since you sit on your ass and just bitch, you are a prime example of why it isn't fixed.
Hes one of those Republican apologists who hates being told its the GOP's fault. I wouldn't call him a right but he's definitely not voting hillary.

He isn't any worse off than you are. Yes, it's the GOPs fault but it's also the Dems fault. It's so much easier blaming the other side than actually doing something about it.
Hey, do you hunt? Dec 26th I finally see 3 deer, open the window, it falls, I grab it so it doesn't smash, they hear then see me and run. Mother fucker!

Again with the party BS. It is not the party it is the government, we have had this issue for decades, whether Congress was a d or R majority or whether the President was a D of R. Time to take the party out of it and work on solutions.

Education is one of the points that the Armed Services uses to attract recruits, where is the breakdown there?
Yea, where?

I have voted for those that have promised to fix issues in my area. So far it is a lot of talk. To blame one party over another isn't fixing a thing.

I have a right to make my comments because I live in America and my father, your father and your uncles fought for that right.

Tell me Sealy, why didn't Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama fix the issues with the vets. You had a Congress from the 40's that have had both Democrats and Republicans in charge and none of them did a thing. Why is that and why is it only now that you complain?

Sorry but both parties are to blame, the reason? no political gain to be had.

I blame both sides. I have written to my Senators and my Congressmen for years wanting more and better benefits for Vets. I have gone to my state legislators and still nothing is done. I take care of my father who is now 90 and fight with the VA to get him benefits he deserves,

Back during bush 1 and Clinton soldiers were getting signing bonus' and full rides. The economy was good kids didn't need to join the army so the government had to offer recruits $. It was a good time.

Plus we didn't have two wars going on and our troops needing the va like they do now.

All I know is the GOP says support the troops when they really mean support the mission. They never support the troops unless they are included in some big spending bill.

Dems support troops 80% of the time, GOP only 20%. Saw that back in 2007. A va watchdog group busted McCain the vet votes against vets.
