The very fact that the 2012 USA Presidential Election may have had so much voter fraud that the office of
President, [that from the perspective of heaven], may have been stolen from Mr. Mitt Romney, makes him an exceptionally interesting G.O. P. contender to lead the Republican Party in 2028?

Did you know that there is a rather old prediction and tradition among Latter day Saints about a future Mormon President of the USA?

Will Mitt Romney fulfill a Mormon ‘prophecy’ and save the Constitution?

Mitt Romney has emerged as the Lone Ranger Republican, willing to speak out about our corrupt president. When the news of Trump’s phone call with Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky broke, Romney said the situation was not just “troubling” but “appalling.” He insisted we needed to know more and encouraged the impeachment inquiry to go forward.

Not surprisingly, Romney’s rationality called down the wrath of our testy and profane leader, who labeled him “a pompous ass” and suggested that it was the junior senator from Utah who should be impeached (he meant “expelled,” but as usual projected his own issues onto the situation).

When I think of Romney these days it’s hard not to recall a story of our frontier ancestors, both early Mormon settlers in northern Arizona. Our great-grandfathers were friends and bonded over the fact they were both arrested for polygamy at the same time, in 1884. When Mitt’s ancestor, Miles P. Romney, couldn’t afford bail, my paternal great-grandfather, William Jordan Flake, lent him $1,000, but Romney never repaid him. Instead Miles P. lit out for Mexico with his wives and children, while my great-grandfather spent six months in the Yuma Territorial Prison before returning to the families that awaited in the town named after him. Later he became one of the first Arizona state senators, perhaps laying out a political path for his progeny: Former Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake is also one of his descendants.

Mitt and I have yet another connection, stranger and even more powerful than polygamist ancestors. It’s something every child growing up in a Mormon household in the 1950s had drilled into their heads.

“One day,” we were told, “the Constitution of the United States will hang by a thread and a Mormon, or group of Mormons, will save the nation.”

This was not a casual statement. It was repeated over and over, year after year, in Mormon congregations across the land; it wasn’t only Mitt and I who heard it. It didn’t matter if you grew up like Mitt, the privileged son of the governor of Michigan; or like me, the daughter of a shoe salesman in Ogden, Utah; or like my friend Rae, the child of ranchers moving sheep around the West. This is what we were all taught — that one day the U.S. Constitution, revered by Mormons as a document inspired by God, would become so deeply endangered and torn asunder that it would also tear the nation apart, and it would be up to Mormons in powerful positions to save us

This prediction had a name, the White Horse Prophecy, and it was supposedly uttered by the founding prophet of the church, Joseph Smith, in 1843, words he was said to have pronounced while he stood before a copy of the apocalyptic painting “Death on a Pale Horse” by the artist Benjamin West.

While the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officially distances itself from the prediction, it can’t be disputed that for years it was repeated by bishops, prophets and leading Mormon politicians, including Ezra Taft Benson, Eisenhower’s secretary of Agriculture and later president of the church. Even Utah’s Orrin Hatch, now retired but the longest serving Republican senator in U.S. history, has referred to it in the past.

Mitt Romney’s father, George, said in 1967, when he was a U.S. presidential candidate, that “the question of whether we are going to proceed on the basis of the Constitution would arise and at this point government leaders who were Mormons would be involved in answering the question.”

Mitt Romney must be thinking about Mormons and threads at this extremely dangerous moment in our country’s history. I don’t see how he could help it. The White Horse Prophecy is not the sort of thing you forget, even if, like me, you have long since left the faith. Romney, after all, is the most recognized Mormon on the planet, who also happens to hold a seat in the U.S. Senate where an impeachment trial would be held, a position of power foretold.

What will Mitt do?

Will he cave to the Republican establishment, as he did in the Brett M. Kavanaugh Supreme Court confirmation hearings, after first appearing to be so amenable to pursuing the “facts”? Or, if an impeachment trial commences, will he stand up for the Constitution and urge his fellow Republican senators to do the same?

In 2007, when Romney was a presidential candidate, he was asked by the Salt Lake Tribune about the White Horse Prophecy and he said, “I haven’t heard my name associated with anything of that nature. ... . I don’t put it at the heart of my religious beliefs.”

He was mostly punting on religion then, having decided to downplay his Mormonism in his campaign, and he doesn’t have to talk about it now. But I know that he knows what we were taught, and now you know as well: This could be his moment to step forward, as his father suggested, to answer that question of whether we are going to proceed on the basis of the Constitution.

So much is hanging on that response.

Latter day Saints and Roman Catholics tend to be the most supportive of near death experiencers and their
NDE testimonies.

Latter day Saints will be in a special position to assist Pope Leo to bring the Roman Catholic traditional church and the Catholic Charismatic movement into a whole new level of problem solving and trouble shooting by 2028.

[Near death experiencer Kevin L. Zadai Th. D.] :

... "Jesus said that this unbelieving world is not going to accept you, but He said, “Do not fear, for I have overcome the world.” What is it that is bothering you today? You might not think that you have access to the Father, but it has been provided to you. You might think that you cannot just go to the Father and ask Him for something. The first thing you should ask the Father is to open your eyes. Your relationship with God is going to drive out fear. You have to grasp that God is not limiting you. He has never limited you. The Holy Spirit came on the Day of Pentecost and took the ceiling off. You can go as high and as far as you want.

If you would believe, God would give you the ability to completely pay off our national debt. God has a way of paying off our debt in our country. There is a way to do it. God knows that secret. But instead of focusing on our country, what about focusing on your bills? What does the Holy Spirit want to tell you by pulling back a veil that will cause you to be debt-free within the year? That will happen if you believe. The Holy Spirit has so much more for you, but you have limited Him. Because you have limited Him, He can’t speak to you. Because of that, people that are prophetic can’t come to you and confirm what God has said because you won’t hear it.

You can trust God. Relationships that you are having trouble with can be resolved tomorrow morning. If you accept what God is saying, the Spirit of God will enforce a blessing in your life to the point where you will see your family members and friends start to respond. In his 2010 lecture Billionaire "Philantropist" Bill Gates entitled "Innovating to zero" Mr. Bill Gates connected the value of each human life to our Carbon Footprint. I do believe that Latter day Saints and residents of UTAH are in a special position to argue with Mr. Bill Gates and prove him to be less than well informed in his thesis.

Nah, Josh Hawley would get my vote if I lived in the US.

I can't see Mr. Romney as a serious contender to win the presidency.

His proposal back in 2012 to put the African Americans "back in chains" really didn't go over very well with either black or white voters.

I've gone to several Latter day Saint Wards and I did not see anybody in chains, so I am pretty sure that whatever Mitt Romney may has said, [that the extremely corrupt and unethical BigMedia exaggerated all out of proportion], was almost certainly not actually intended in that way?

Interesting. I had to do a search to learn more about that name.

Joshua David Hawley (born December 31, 1979) is an American politician and attorney serving as the senior United States senator from Missouri, a seat he has held since 2019. A member of the Republican Party, Hawley served as the 42nd attorney general of Missouri from 2017 to 2019, before defeating two-term incumbent Democratic senator Claire McCaskill in the 2018 election. He was reelected in 2024.

Born in Springdale, Arkansas, to a banker and a teacher, Hawley graduated from Stanford University in 2002 and Yale Law School in 2006. After being a law clerk to Judge Michael W. McConnell and Chief Justice John Roberts, he worked as a lawyer, first in private practice from 2008 to 2011 and then for the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty from 2011 to 2015. Before being elected Missouri attorney general, he was also an associate professor at the University of Missouri School of Law, and a faculty member of the conservative Blackstone Legal Fellowship.

As a Messianic Jew who has been mentored by more than fourteen Latter day Saint Elders, [and even by two Sisters by video during C o v i d 1 9], I would suggest to Mr. Mitt Romney that he acts like King David, who felt guilty over even cutting off a piece of the garment of King Saul, and Mr. Romney SHOULD SAY NOTHING CRITICAL OF PRESIDENT DONALD JOHN TRUMP!!!!!!!!!!!

As he gets this possible campaign platform rolling?

The dems will never nominate John Kasich.

Your comment is rather interesting considering that Mr. John Kasich is a member of the G. O. P.

John Richard Kasich Jr. (/ˈkeɪsɪk/ KAY-sik;[1] born May 13, 1952)[2] is an American politician and author who was the 69th governor of Ohio from 2011 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1983 to 2001, and was a candidate for the presidential nomination in 2000 and 2016.[3]

Kasich was born and grew up in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, and moved to Ohio in 1970 to attend college. After a single term in the Ohio Senate, he served nine terms as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Ohio's 12th congressional district.[4] His tenure in the House included 18 years on the House Armed Services Committee and six years as chair of the House Budget Committee. Kasich was a key figure in the passage of both 1996 welfare reform legislation and the Balanced Budget Act of 1997. Kasich decided not to run for re-election in 2000 and ran for president instead. He withdrew from the race before the Republican primaries.

He has an even lower chance of being nominated by the GOP.

Interesting!

What do you think of Mr. Mitt Romney and some of his children or grandchildren beginning this possible campaign in the little nation of Israel?

Brigham Young University has a campus in Jerusalem.

"Should L.D.S. support rebuilding of Jerusalem Third Temple?"

  1. 1. Do you support the rebuilding of the Jerusalem Third Temple by Jews... and for Jews?

    • Yes..... every word in Ezekiel chapters 40 - 48 must come to pass.

      7
    • No..... this could cause a war in the Middle East.... and each human life is a temple potentially for the Holy Spirit.

      0
    • Yes

      4
    • No

      4
    • I am not certain.... but I am going to research this question further.

"Following are several paragraphs from Grant R. Jeffrey Ph. D. who I believe did a great job of explaining

how different the relationship between the First Century Messianic Jewish community was with the Rabbinic

Jewish community...... in comparison to how matters are today in 2018."

"The Sacrificial System Will Continue

One of the most perplexing ideas to students of Scripture is the idea that God intends that the annual feasts, along with animal sacrifice, will continue into the Millennium. Many Christians who have studied the prophetic portions of Zechariah 14, Isaiah 66, and Ezekiel 40 - 48, which clearly describe these Millennial worship ordinations, are confused by the idea. They ask, "Didn't the sacrifice of Christ eliminate animal sacrifices forever?"

............"Only the complete sacrifice of Jesus could ever totally atone for our sins. However, God clearly demanded the sacrifices from Adam to Christ. Those sacrifices were acts of obedience to the direct command of God, as well as acknowledgements of one's own personal sinfulness and need for God's forgiveness. Animal sacrifices covered the sins of the people temporarily until the prophesied Messiah would come and offer Himself once and for all as the necessary atonement for sin. If animal sacrifice can never atone for sin, why would God allow Israel to resume such sacrifice in the Third Temple, prior to Armageddon, and then demand that Israel continue such sacrifice in the Millennium? There are two reasons why I believe this is true."

First, the early Jewish - Christian Church continued to offer sacrifices in the first century.".......

.......Second, New Testament writers used the legal sacrificial system to illustrate very important points concerning Christ's sacrifice on the Cross.......

..... These examples of the way early Jewish believers used God's law to teach great love when He sacrificed His only Son on the cross will be repeated during the Millennium." (Grant R. Jeffrey, Messiah, War in the Middle East and the Road to Armageddon, page 317, 318 and 319)

Do you as an L.D. S. support the ultimate expression of freedom of religion for Orthodox Jews and Levites......

their ability to offer sacrifices according to the commandments of Moses...... in the Jerusalem Third Temple?

Not in a long time.

It is estimated that VOLUNTEERISM in some form is about twenty percent of the economy of the USA as well as of the economy here in Canada.

The State of Utah is in an especially interesting position to take a good look at the 1932 Worgl Austria Local Money Experiment that played an important role in setting up F. D. R. to initiate The New Deal.

Volunteerism by Latter day Saints and / or residents of Utah and residents of ALBERTA could be seen as a representative sample for all volunteerism by all Americans and all Canadians?

[The Truth About Money: The Money SystemIsnt There a Better Way?
by Francis and Lia Ayley] :

"City in Austria Printed Local Currency
Worgl, like many other European towns and cities, was hit hard by the Great Depression. There was mass unemployment; four of the five local factories had closed, and the people were starving in the streets. Nobody had any money to buy anything. One of the features of an economic depression is that there is not enough money in circulation to ensure that people can meet their basic needs, and in the 1930s, the shortage of currency in many countries of the world became catastrophic.

The mayor of Worgl, together with local businessmen, decided to try to break this economic impasse by creating their own local currency. They printed and issued 60,000 Austrian shillings worth of local currency. These shillings could only be spent in Worgl, so they remained in the local community and were exchanged over and over again.

The positive impact was immediate and surprising to everyone. In only six weeks, unemployment disappeared, all the factories had reopened and everyone had food. For the inhabitants of Worgl, the economic depression was gone. This dramatic transformation became known as the “miracle of Worgl.” Surrounding towns, inspired by the success of Worgl, immediately started printing their own local currencies.

Sadly, the miracle did not last long. When the Austrian Central Bank heard about Worgl’s local currency, they initiated legal proceedings against the mayor and local businessmen. According to Austrian banking law, it was illegal for anyone except the Austrian Central Bank to issue money. The bank won the court case, and the mayor was ordered to shut down the local currency, which he did, under threat of imprisonment. The town then returned to the devastating economic depression of the 1930s, with all the human pain and suffering associated with this catastrophe. Factories closed, and once again, the people starved.

Alternative Currency in the U.S.
Irving Fisher, an American professor of economics at Yale University, visited Worgl before the local currency was suppressed and witnessed the ‘miracle’ firsthand. When he returned to the United States, Fisher spread the word by traveling and lecturing across the country, advocating the use of the Worgl ‘scrip’ everywhere. Inspired by his vision, hundreds of communities began issuing their own currency, and by 1934 there were over 1,000 local communities using ‘scrip’ throughout the U.S.

Every one of these communities experienced a tremendous rejuvenation of their local economies. They thrived while others suffered. Fisher then met with President Franklin D. Roosevelt, proposing the implementation of government-sanctioned local ‘scrip’ in every community in America. When FDR consulted with his top financial advisors and bankers, however, he was advised to shut all the ‘scrip’ systems down, which he did. Instead, he borrowed large amounts of money from bankers, at interest, and used it to pay for the Reconstruction Finance Corporation and the other work-creation projects, which collectively came to be known as the ‘New Deal.’ So ended the last widespread use of a local currency within the U.S.

This pattern of economic collapse and re-emergence of local currencies has occurred thousands of times in many parts of the world. When these currencies have failed or have been suppressed, banks have not always been to blame. Sometimes, local currencies fail because they have been badly designed or implemented. Sometimes, people lose interest in them when the mainstream economy recovers. But they have always returned in one form or another during times of economic failure.

Our present world situation is uniquely different. Despite a relatively prosperous and stable world economy, a quiet monetary revolution has been occurring around the globe over the last 20 years. Awareness is growing about the flaws in our current monetary system, and people are re-creating viable alternatives. We are witnessing for the first time the worldwide creation of money systems designed by the people who use them, instead of by central banks.
