27 years ago today, Waco

And after 27 years the reprehensible right continues to lie about what happened.

Didn't read it did you. It's like none I have ever read or seen before. Factual, impartial, stuff I never seen on Koresh before.

The Waco Siege: What Happened When the Feds Laid Siege to the Branch Davidian Compound

“The record of the Waco incident documents mistakes. What the record from Waco does not evidence, however, is any improper motive or intent on the part of law enforcement.”

Joseph Biden, U.S. Senator, Delaware (D) and member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which issued the Waco Investigation Report
The siege of the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas, is an important event in American history because it directly led to one of the biggest terrorist attacks on American soil – the bombing of the Oklahoma City Federal Building. It’s not necessary to defend this act of terrorism to understand why the entire freedom movement of the time was so incensed by it. Indeed, it stood as a symbol of federal overreach and the corruption of the Clinton Administration.

It’s important to separate fact from fiction when it comes to the siege of Waco, just as it is important to do so with the siege of Ruby Ridge or the attack on the American consolate in Benghazi. With every event, it is important to stick to the facts and what can be extrapolated from them to make the strongest argument about what went wrong and why, and what could be done differently in the future.

The events in Waco should be seen as a stark reminder of precisely how any ban on semi-automatic weapons would be enforced.

That's pretty much all I have to say about that.

Really? ... this material has been out for quite awhile ... if this is the first time you bothered then welcome to reality ...

The government made some serious mistakes at Waco and Ruby Ridge ... mistakes they did not repeat at The Democratic People's Republic of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge ... so if the lesson was learned, I'm fine moving on ...

The article in the OP quickly glossed over the fact the Branch Davidians did have 50 automatic machine guns without the proper Federal licenses ... they correctly assumed they wouldn't be able to get these licenses ... the article mis-states the legality of such unlicensed guns ...

Plenty of blame to go around ... both sides made tragic mistakes ... if any good came of this, then it's that the Federal Courts ruled the agent that took that fateful shoot at Ruby Ridge could be prosecuted by Idaho for murder ... just the price for this was too high in children's lives ... they were innocent ...

Oh yes Reiny, serious fault on both sides for sure.

I thought it was a good article.

At Ruby the agent never was prosecuted for anything. Sad thing what he did.

The Idaho AG gave her reasons for not pursuing the matter ... it had been some years and the time for healing long begun ... but the precedent has been set, next time the state won't have to wait as long ...

That was a nice shot that Oregon Trooper took on Finicum a few years ago ... just saying ...

The Government NEVER showed a single fully automatic weapon as evidence claiming they were destroyed in the fire. Further several members of the Group had Firearms licenses to buy and sell firearms making the weapons they had quite legal.

Further I saw the original raid footage the agents that entered the building through a window were fired on by an agent OUTSIDE the window.,

Bill Clinton and the FBI murdered all those children at Waco.

Janet Reno agreed to take the blame, and she was rewarded.

She appeared on SNL, jumping through a wall with jack boots stomping all over the place.

The liberals at SNL thought it was funny that Janet Reno was a murderer.

She burst through the wall wearing jack boots.

It was supposed to be funny, because murdering religious fundamentalists is funny to sophisticated New York liberals.

She did in the skit? I forget, too much bourbon, rye, beer and pot since I seen that one.
