Branch Davidian Compound Fire Ends 51-Day Waco Standoff, Kills About 80. Hard to believe Reno just did not order the arrest of Koresh when he was in town on multiple occasions.​

On April 19, 1993, a fire destroyed the Branch Davidian compound at Mount Carmel outside Waco, killing about 80 people, including 22 children, and ending the 51-day standoff with federal authorities.

There's a very good chance that the OK City Bombing would not have taken place if Reno/Clinton had not gotten their murder on.

Why they never arrested Koresh off compound is beyond me.

And I would have handled the assault on the compound far more effectively: I would not have authorized it.

Years ago, the state police barricaded a plyg compound (non-Mormon) in Houston County for three or four years until they snagged the bad guy.

Just a bad, awful deal all around.

I wonder how many millions of taxpayer dollars they spent apprehending a non-violent social criminal.
