2008: Year of the underdog?

McCain and Obama were both underdogs as this year started off. I remember talking to a friend saying that the election would fall between Guiliani or Romney and Hillary. No one expected McCain or Obama.

The New York Giants were thought to be dead last year and barely made it into the playoffs. When they went up against the Patriots, there was a general belief that the Giants were going to lose.


A rocker won American Idol when everyone thought David Archuletta was going to win.

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays are in the World Series.

There is a noticeable pattern to favor the underdogs this year.

Obama voters: Do not get complaicent. Vote early and get everyone you know to vote.
