17 states are suing Obama administration

I wonder on what grounds are they suing?

Because we have Reagan and GHW Bush that did the same thing as Obama, through INS, without Congress's approval or vote...not only did he give them delayed deportation protection, but he also AUTHORIZED these illegals to be able to work.... 1.5 million of them.... So what is the difference...honestly, what is the difference? A republican president doing this vs a Democratic President? A white president vs a black president? WHAT IS IT that makes you think these measures are not kosher now when they passed muster with GHW Bush and Reagan?

—1990. In February, President George H.W. Bush, acting through the Immigration and Naturalization Service, established a "family fairness" in which family members living with a legalizing immigrant and who were in the U.S. before passage of the 1986 law were granted protection from deportation and authorized to seek employment. The administration estimated up to 1.5 million people would be covered by the policy. Congress in October passed a broader immigration law that made the protections permanent.
That same standard claim has been debunked dozens of times "Reagan did it too". Reagan did NOT do it too, and neither did Bush.
IT HAS NOT BEEN DEBUNKED, You are uninformed, they BOTH DID IT, outside of immigration reform of 1986.

timeline 2 GOP presidents acted unilaterally on immigration

—1986. Congress and Reagan enacted a sweeping overhaul that gave legal status to up to 3 million immigrants without authorization to be in the country, if they had come to the U.S. before 1982. Spouses and children who could not meet that test did not qualify, which incited protests that the new law was breaking up families.

—1987. Early efforts in Congress to amend the law to cover family members failed. Reagan's Immigration and Naturalization Service commissioner announced that minor children of parents granted amnesty by the law would get protection from deportation. Spouses and children of couples in which one parent qualified for amnesty but the other did not remained subject to deportation, leading to efforts to amend the 1986 law.

—1989. By a sweeping 81-17 vote, the Senate in July voted to prohibit deportations of family members of immigrants covered by the 1986 law. The House failed to act.

Reagan went through Congress why do want to continue to spread that lie? I don't know what you're talking about with Bush. But if it were TRUE then show where he was sued by Seventeen states like Obama is, if what Obama is doing is LEGAL?
She can't because she is lying.

Reagan and congress passed immigration reform IN 1986, BUT this immigration reform had some problems,,,,children of those who were given amnesty that did not qualify for amnesty themselves, were still eligible to be deported.... there was an outcry that the federal gvt was splitting up families, so Reagan issues an executive order for INS to DELAY DEPORTATION of the children OF PARENTS that were given a road to amnesty.

Then in 1990, GHW Bush issued an executive order for INS to DELAY DEPORTATION of family members of those given amnesty in 1986 that did not qualify under the 1986 amnesty bill....

You're full of shit. You liberals always try to justify Obama's lawlessness by claiming Republican presidents did the same thing. They DIDN'T. Stop lying.
Please, tell me , what is exactly this shit you are speaking about?

BUSH AND REAGAN issued directives to INS to IGNORE THE 1986 LAW, and not deport these illegal people that DID NOT QUALIFY for the 1986 amnesty, children of those granted amnesty for Reagan, and husbands and wives for HW Bush of the people that were issued amnesty in 1986....and Bush gave them the authorization to work as well...

ALL WITHOUT CONGRESS.

Do you have a reading comprehension problem as well?

The ONLY ONE LYING is YOU, calling me a liar....

What is it that you don't seem to understand? These actions by Reagan and by Pres Bush, on delayed deportation protection, were done OUTSIDE of the 1986 immigration law...

GOT THAT? let it sink in then come back and apologize, if you are man enough.

The executive orders came AFTER they were approved by Congress. Obama BYPASSED Congress. BIG DIFFERENCE!
NO, there is no difference...

These people were NOT GIVEN AMNESTY through the immigration reform bill of 1986....

CONGRESS DID NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE AMNESTY.

but Reagan AND Bush DID GIVE THEM Delayed deportation protection through an executive order to INS, directing INS NOT to FOLLOW the LAW, and to NOT deport these people that did not qualify for the Amnesty that congress gave.....AND Bush also gave these illegals AUTHORIZATION to work, WITHOUT CONGRESS.....

9 months later, congress acted on immigration reform again, in October of 1990, and included those protections from deportation that Bush issued to INS via executive order.

NO DIFFERENCE what so ever, than what Obama has done with delayed deportation
You brainless idiot! The difference is that Reagan had the approval of Congress. Get that through your thick, f-ing skull!
How so? How did Reagan and Bush have congress's approval when Congress could not pass these corrections to the original 1986 bill that did pass.... the Senate passed these actions that Reagan took afterwards, but the house of Reps, failed to pass it, so the executive orders of these two presidents, is what INS worked off of.....

It was not until October of 1990, that both the House and the Senate passed NEW immigration REFORM that included the executive actions of Reagan and Bush on immigration...

So again, YOU ARE WRONG.... and you are in a tizzy over it, but what can I do, other than just REPEAT THE TRUTH.

Reagan signed legislation (Simpson-Mazzoli Act), Obama signed an executive order. Reagan followed the Constitution, Obama violated it and claimed it was the same thing.

Reagan signed legislation (Simpson-Mazzoli Act), Obama signed an executive order. Reagan followed the Constitution, Obama violated it and claimed it was the same thing.
the simpson mazzoli Act,

DID NOT COVER AMNESTY for the children of the illegals given amnesty, that had not been in the USA before 1982, nor did this act cover the wives or husbands of these people that qualified for the 1986 amnesty, if their spouses had not been here in the USA prior to 1982.

Reagans actions through INS in 1987, (NOTE, THIS IS AFTER the simpson mazzoli act of 1986) delayed deportation for the illegal children that had NOT QUALIFIED for amnesty under the 1986 Act.

President Bush's action and directives given to INS, exempted illegals THAT DID NOT QUALIFY for amnesty under the simpson mazzoli immigration reform act, and gave these illegals NOT COVERED by congress's act, delayed deportation protection and gave these illegals that DID NOT QUALIFY for the amnesty under the 1986 Act, authorization to work.

This was done by these Presidents, OUTSIDE OF CONGRESS, through executive actions with INS.

These delayed deportation protections for these specific illegals, WERE NOT GIVEN by Congress in the 1986 Act, but through these Presidents taking their own actions...

DO YOU UNDERSTAND now???

Congress did not give their approval.... Congress TRIED to give their approval, BUT IT DID NOT PASS,

TWICE it did not pass and congress DID not get it approved.

IT was not until October of 1990, 4 YEARS AFTER the 1986 Immigration act, that Congress gave President Reagan and Pres Bush 1 approval....for their executive orders issued to INS

Isn't there like 11 MILLION illegals here right now? That is a HUGE financial problem. And like I said...they pay no taxes. They get a drivers liense. They have medical care. Their kids go to school. The taxes we pay goes to feeding them, their healthare, school lunches, etc.

Try doing that in another country and see what happens.

Not to mention in states like California illegal criminal aliens hold back your kids at school. Yep, billingual classes. So, your kid only gets 30 minutes of an hour in instruction of history, social studies, math, in the english language

-Geaux

Wow.. That video ... Those criminals look like rats running on the fence. They should be beaten

11 million?? I wish. The govt has been using that number for the last 35 years but it's way outdated. More like 40 million now. And yes - they are a huge financial burden on all citizens. No other country would tolerate this.

[Q
That's the great thing about Obama's plan.
To get temporary relief from deportation (for that's what it is...not amnesty) they will have to pay their taxes...which is surely an improvement on the current situation.

They're not gonna pay any taxes, you idiot. When your reported income is $30K and you have 8 kids, you don't pay income taxes. Even the ones that do have taxes to pay will simply refuse to do so and that will be the end of it. Obozo has made it very clear he does not enforce laws that illegals oppose.

Yes indeed. The reagan amnesty was terrible for america but at least ronnie did it legally. He got the law changed. Captain Choom did NOT get the law changed. He just said he's gonna ignore the law!!

These suits are being filed in federal court and have zero chance of success. In disputes between the states and the feds, federal judges, being federal employees, always find for the side that writes their pay check.

PART of what Reagan and Bush1 wanted in immigration reform and amnesty was done by Congress....but here is the kicker, NOT ALL OF IT WAS DONE BY CONGRESS....Congress did not give amnesty to the spouses or relatives of those eligible for amnesty, and Congress did not give amnesty to the children of those adults given amnesty. Those people WERE NOT GIVEN AMNESTY by the law that congress passed.

PERIOD.

Congress could not pass a bill giving these groups amnesty, the bills kept failing and did not pass or one house of congress chose NOT to bring the bill up that was to give these additional people not covered by the Immigration Act of 1986, delayed deportation or amnesty.

So via an executive action given to INS, Reagan gave the children of those eligible for amnesty, delayed deportation protection, via his executive order.

And then congress continued to not pass these additional reforms that would give amnesty to the illegal spouses of those given amnesty...

so,early in 1990, President HW Bush issued an executive action for INS to give delayed deportation protection to the illegal spouses that were NOT eligible for amnesty through the law that Congress had passed in 1986.

AND President Bush ALSO took executive action and GAVE these illegal spouses that were not eligible for amnesty, AUTHORIZATION to work.

You often say THINK to everyone else SS, so let me say it to you...THINK!

What I have shown you and SJ and everyone else that has BOUGHT IN TO THE LIE that the right wing media has told you to buy in to....you know, the one where you and SJ say that Reagan NEVER did an executive action and Bush never did an executive action to give delayed deportation and Auth to Work.....that you are simply telling a LIE, over and over and over and over and over again.

EDIT: Addition:

So again, what is it that Obama has done that these 2 OTHER PRESIDENTS, had already done and believed to be within their power to do?
