$ 100 toss up question on science

Since we don't really have a science forum ( hint hint) I thought I'd ask this here. Is technology advanced far enough to detect radioactive material from great distances (satellites) ? If not---someone out there oughta get with it !!!!!!--Cmon--get those chemistry kits outta the closet !!
