Wshington Post: Obama The Most Polarizing President Ever...

Well you might support it, but you are not facing it..The Majority of the people DISAPPROVE of Obama...that my friend is REALITY.

Actually his approval rating just hit 53%.

In any case..if the majority "dissapprove"..he will lose the election come 2012. So you have no worries.

Right? :eusa_shhh:

lol, 53%

Just like Unemployment is only 8.5%

Like I said..if your "reality" is true. <REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE> (Place one there) shouldn't have a problem beating him.

speaking of belonging to a bubble club...you are part of a Minority of Obama supporters.
tsk tsk

I support reality, not Obama, and when you guys attack him from a position of non-reality, I type my widdle fingers.

RCP Averages:

Approve 47%
Disapprove 47.4%

Nice solid majority you're rockin' there, Steph

Let's see how the GOP field lines up....

Obama vs Romney: Obama +2.4
Obama vs Paul: Obama +5.4 (shhh, nobody is supposed to know that Paul polls second best against him .... this fight is between Romney and Gingrich)
Obama vs Santorum: Obama +10.0
Obama vs Gingrich: Obama +12.8

RealClearPolitics - Opinion, News, Analysis, Videos and Polls

And he hasn't even begun to campaign yet.

You're giggling and ignoring reality. Like I said, the bubble.

This, from RASMUSSEN on January 30th.

In potential Election 2012 matchups, it’s President Obama 47% and Romney 41%. However, if Gingrich is his Republican opponent, the president holds a double-digit lead, 52% to 35%.

Overall, 51% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president's job performance.

^That's Rasmussen Steph.

they AT LEAST somewhat approve..what a great indicator for reelection..

No, the indicator for reelection, since you ignored that part, is how he's polling against the top two candidates running against him.

If the president is polarizing, the polarization only reflects the polarization present throughout the entire country. There is not a point on which the divisions can agree. There is no point of compromise left.

Let's be honest, board progressives...when Barack, Harry and Nancy were holding all the cards with their super majorities...they DIDN'T compromise at all with Republicans. They compromised with some of the Blue Dog Democrats to get legislation passed but when Obama made his remark to Eric Cantor that "elections have consequences...I won..." that pretty much sums up how it was with negotiations with this Administration and the GOP in Obama's first year.

So along comes the 2010 mid-terms and the voters give you progressives a serious "shellacking" (to once again use Barry's words) but suddenly THAT election didn't seem to have the same "consequences" as the one in 2008 with Obama threatening vetos and Harry Reid sitting on over thirty House bills sent over to the Senate. Following THAT election, it became "We know best" and if you won't give it to us through a vote we'll get it through executive order. Yet you folks come here repeatedly talking about how it's the Republicans that have obstructed this President? The fact is...Barack Obama has hung himself on his own "petard". Republicans that disliked him before he was elected in 2008 LOATHED him by the end of 2009.

No doubt Obama is the most polarizing president

Once he was elected, Republicans decided they would not lift a finger to help him succeed at anything. They have dug in and opposed every single Obama policy. Even the ones they once proposed. The stonewalling of Obama has resulted in a stagnant government that cannot accomplish the most simple task

No question that Obama is divisive

Most of the obstructionism is coming from the democrats who then SAY it's coming from the republicans.

If the GOP sold out they would do more damage to themselves than Obama policies did to the economy.

But I seem to remember a Democratic controlled congress sending Bush nothing but protest bills and they still haven't passed a budget since they took over in 07'. I also remember their spokesman saying they had to turn the Iraq War, Bush's strong point into a defeat in the press. They refused to approve any of his appointments, they fought him tooth and nail on every issue, and speaking of the debt, every time Bush submitted a spending proposal or a budget they always said it didn't go far enough or spend enough. They wanted issues to attack him on in the 08' election. They're still running against Bush when they claim they inherited the poor economy. They caused the poor economy, intentionally.

I think your stonewalling accusations are a bit hollow considering the history of these Democrats.

Our Congress never used to be like this

Back when Ron Reagan was fighting Tip O'Neil, they used to be able to find a middle ground. Publicly, they fought like cats and dogs....privately, they compromised

It was the emergence of Newt Gingrich in the 90s that changed politics forever. Newt prought with him a new breed of politician, one who thought ideology was everything and compromise was for pussies.

With Clinton, they just kept him tied up with one investigation after another. When all else failed, they impeached him. With Obama, they realized they paid too big a price with impeachment. Their tactics changed to obstruction and noncooperation. Compromise was now an admission of failure. It was better to do nothing than to do something that someone else might get credit for.

The difference between Clinton and Obama is that when Clinton's party took a beating in the mid-terms, Slick Willie was an astute enough politician to move to the center. Do you remember him making the statement that the day of big goverment was over? Where did Obama ever move to the center? Clinton was able to work with Gingrich because "HE" moderated his agenda in keeping with what the electorate wanted. Obama hasn't changed his agenda at all...he's just changed his methods for trying to achieve it.

Obama has been governing from the center since he has been elected. His problem is that the Republicans have been captured by the radical far right that refuses any compromise

Obama and John Kerry saying Bush was "Terrorising Iraqi woman and children in the middle of the night"
"Bush Lied...People Died!"
Every week was a new accusation. They won the 06' and 08' elections on critcizing Bush, and Obama hasn't stopped doing it yet.

When did Obama or Kerry ever say that?

You know you don't have a quote. Why don't you demonstrate to everyone how you use context

lol! Lots of predictable replies on this thread. When a Democrat polarizes, it's not his or her fault. But when a Republican polarizes, it's definitely all his or her fault. Funny stuff. :)
