Wow, Republicans expanded their majority in the House last night

Yup, Republicans actually expanded their lead in the House to 240. Meanwhile the Dems are in a frenzy because they won a governorship in a state that voted overwhelmingly Blue in the 2016 elections. Whoop de doo!

ACORN? You think ACORN is equivalent to Republican gerrymandering?

You are confused on the Russian thong. The Clinton campaign hired a opposition research firm who investigated Trumnp's activities in Russia. Trump's campaign had several secret meetings with Russian government officials & then lied about it.

All of those special elections were in very safe districts, and in all cases (aside from the California 34th), the Republicans had significantly more of a challenge that would be considered "normal" for the district.
But that's the whole point. Dems won in places where they were already a shoo-in. Somehow it's a referendum on trump but the repub wins are ignored.
You're supporting Pravda.

Except that's just not true. The Virginia governors race was competitive, particularly in the last few weeks prior to the election.

In addition, it's hard to claim that Democrats were "shoo-ins" in the 15 Republican seats in the Virginia House of Delegates that they flipped - including quite a few seats that had been Republican for decades.
Though it's still a relatively smaller geography, urban VA is spreading like wildfire. People now commute daily all the way from Winchester to DC. Loudoun county is now solidly democrat.
You can expect more elections flipping.

Due to the demographics, such as increase in govt workers (thanks to Hussein Obama) and a huge influx of Latinos and minorities, Virginia has become a solid blue state. It was actually a surprise that the race became "competitive". And now we find out that it never was. Perhaps Trump was right, Gillespie wasn't the right guy to pull it off.

Like all other blue states, it's only a matter of time that their House is dominated by Dems, no surprises here either. Bottom line is this is hardly a national referendum, just another blue state turning even more blue. Whoop de doo.
You just make up shit as you go along, don'tcha?

"Due to the demographics, such as increase in govt workers (thanks to Hussein Obama)"

... in reality, only 31,000 additional federal employees were added during Obama's 8 years in office; and you have no idea how many of them moved to Virginia.

With additional Fed workers and highspanics comes a demand for more goods and services. That impacts the population, too.

We are talking about the bluest state in Utah. Hardly unexpected. They did not expand anything since a Republican won a Republican held seat. If you look at what happened in Virginia, the Democrats won 6 of the 11 Congressional districts.

No, they did not because no one was running for Congress you mental midget!

Northram did win those Congressional districts you idiot. The 2nd district looks like the best pickup opportunity while the 7th is within striking distance. None of the Democrat seats seem to be in play. Also worth noting that Northram did better than Clinton in every CD.

If you are not having a Congressional race, what difference does it make? All you have is someone creating an artificial assumption of how people would vote IF there had been a Congressional race, but devoid of actual candidates, it means about as much as the difference in your IQ and room tem! Nothing at all!

It means quite a bit. It tells us that 5 seats are safely in GOP hands and 4 safely in Democrat hands. The 2nd district will be a battleground and the 7th could be hard fought. It gives us clues into what voters may be thinking. It suggests that healthcare may be a major issue. and taxes and immigration may not. We are largely talking about House seats in blue and swing states.

No. It does not. You are trying to extrapolate data from an off-year election to the midterms. All you have is assumptions and we all knew Hillary was going to win and the lib media told us for a year and a half that Trump could not win. Well, what happened?

You continue to deny reality. Trump will be the leader of the Republican Party. The fact is that the mid-terms are off-year as well since there will be no Presidential race. We do have data to look at and it does tell us something. Then you have Democrats picking up seats in the Philadelphia suburbs for the first time. The Republicans should be worried about the mid-terms especially if you have a bunch of flakes running.

Trumpturd

You mean a republic pol won in Utah to replace a republic pol is a gain?

Only in fake news land.
Libtard say what? Dems have lost 4 out of 4 House seats, including the one last night, and yet they're excited about winning in Leftie state? Ha ha ha.

Don't get so butt hurt conservative. Special elections in Mormon Utah are always competitive right?
Actually, so far out of five House races republicans have won all five. And before each of those races the Dems and the fake media cited their fake polls, and told us they're going to win and that it will be all about Trump. Until they lost. We didn't see the republicans behave like they just won the Super Bowl and hurl nasty insults at the other other side, unlike the classless phony Dems.

Classless is a president who never moves on from his election. A one year anniversary picture? Are you Fucking serious? When has any other president in our nations history celebrated this instead of actually BEING president?

Hey, my advise would be to ignore the election results and continue on the idiot path with trump. Please continue on and get even more impervious to facts and reason....because normal (read not trumpers of lower education) voters love a fact less reason less president.
So remind us again...is it Trump that has moved on from the election, and is trying to bring about positive change for Americans, or is it the Dems that have not been able to deal with the results, have nothing to offer but "resistance", impeachment of Trump, Russia, and fake news.

The Left will keep braying, Trump will do what he promised for the country and because of that he will win again.

Your chance to turn the House and Senate came and went in 2016. Now it's the Left that is more vulnerable in both the Senate and the House. You guys are due for a major shellacking in 2018.

Actually, dipstick, check this out, Latino population almost doubled, up by 93% between the 2000 and 2010 census, and blacks up significantly as well. Now you know why the Dems ran that disgusting ad. That all they have racism, fear mongering, fake news, and demonization. They truly have nothing to offer to the American people but hatred and lies.

Unlikely. It is just a fact of current US politics that races are won through votes against rather than for. 2018 will see a year that the dems can run against Trump and the republicans do not have a bogyman to run against. They will lose seats in 2018. The only thing that is in question will be how many.

Nah, I don't think so. I'm a staunch Trump supporter and I think the dems will gain a few seats in 2018. Barring some unforeseen circumstance that sways the nations mindset, the republicans are doing such a poor job that the pendulum will start to swing back in 2018.

While your republic party has a label of being the party of dumb.

How the hell can anyone come here to brag about the house having a effin majority, when you have the house, the senate and the co co nest and still you miserable bastards can't get shit done....but pass crap that 89% of the country don't want, like or need? but these mindless poor white trashed Gerrymandered bitches, who are too gotdamned stupid to see past GOP bullshit!!
Is that why the economy is doing so well, stock market is at record highs, and unemployment is at record lows, and it's getting better all the time?

Oh sorry, they didn't install a gender neutral restroom in the public housing neighborhood you live in.
hate to inform you fool, but anything going well in this country is a direct result of Obama's skirt tail....thus far, other than existing....nobody in washington has done one gotdamn thing to get credit for anything....and the market is just waiting on their trillion dollar tax gift from the GOP and is hitting a all time high based on consumer free credit that fucked us last time....the bubble will burst again and this time, you bitches have no one to blame but yourselves.

Putz, you were also talking about government employees moving there. That’s what I took exception to since you just made that up out of whole cloth.

And now you’re calling yourself a retard with those census figures. You were blaming Obama for the growth of government and minorities in Virginia but now you’re relying on census data from 2000-2010 to show Hispanic growth. :cuckoo:

Rightard.... that period reflects just 6% of Clinton’s terms and 19% of Obama’s terms but 100% of Bush’s terms.

Now we see, in typical rightwingnut fashion, you blame Obama for things that happened to Bush.

Democrats are more exposed in the Senate, they may gain a few in the house and but definitely risk losing at least five in the Senate. And don't forget, Trump hasn't begun campaigning yet.

Larry J. Sabato's Crystal Ball » 2018 Senate: The Democrats Are Very Exposed

How Bad Is the Democratic Senate Map for 2018? | RealClearPolitics

Why 2018 might not be such an amazing election for Democrats - CNNPolitics

Even if Democrats were to win every single 2018 House and Senate race for seats representing places that Hillary Clinton won or that Trump won by less than 3 percentage points — a pretty good midterm by historical standards — they could still fall short of the House majority and lose five Senate seats."

Now you know why the media is going beserk. Dems lose in 2018, it's over for them, they have no way of stopping Trump.

Did dispstick forget that Obama grew the size of govt. to record numbers?

Federal workers hit record number, but growth slows under Obama

And guess which tiny state with a fraction of the population is competing with large states like CA and Texas in number of Federal employees?

Federal Employees By State

States with the most federal civilian employees as of December 2016 include California (141,158), Virginia (136,377), Maryland (130,402) and Texas (114,170).

Gee I wonder which way those dirtbag IRS agents that Hussein Obama sic'd on the American people voted? Any ideas? Ha ha ha.
