Wow, Republicans expanded their majority in the House last night

Yup, Republicans actually expanded their lead in the House to 240. Meanwhile the Dems are in a frenzy because they won a governorship in a state that voted overwhelmingly Blue in the 2016 elections. Whoop de doo!

Bitch, if it wasn't for gerrymandered districts you cowards have to have in order get fuckin votes, you bitches couldn't win shit...so don't be hating on the dem's, you bastards can't do shit without cheating

Ha ha ha. Spoken like a true Leftwing nutjob. Does the name ACORN ring a bell? How about Dona Brazil and Hillary's nomination rigging and then colluding with the Russians to rig the elections? Sad part is despite all that crookedness you didn't win. You shameless Dems haven't held an honest election in decades. There's always some horrific stink that comes out afterwards.

How the hell can anyone come here to brag about the house having a effin majority, when you have the house, the senate and the co co nest and still you miserable bastards can't get shit done....but pass crap that 89% of the country don't want, like or need? but these mindless poor white trashed Gerrymandered bitches, who are too gotdamned stupid to see past GOP bullshit!!
Is that why the economy is doing so well, stock market is at record highs, and unemployment is at record lows, and it's getting better all the time?

Oh sorry, they didn't install a gender neutral restroom in the public housing neighborhood you live in.

That is such a shocker - Mormons chose a Republican to replace Angry Beaver Guy.

In the meantime, Dems pulled off an inside straight in 100% of the purple races.
Were you guys this giddy last November when Trump flipped states that had not voted red in decades? It's going to keep happening, you know. Dems have a very low learning curve.

This was already a Republican held seat and given that it's Utah, the most Republican state in the country, the odds of them losing were pretty slim.
The same can be said of the VA governorship. Dem state, previous governor was a Dem, and the Dem had a substantial lead for a long time.

Not so much. Virginia is a swing state
A swing state that somehow voted overwhelmingly for Hillary, who's previous governor was Clinton confidant Terri Mcauliffe, who's lieutenant governor happened to be Ralph Northam, the same guy that ran for governor and won? This thing was rigged from the get-go.

Clinton won by five points and with less than 50% of the vote. Hardly overwhelming. Gillespie lost by eight points and Northam got a majority. Are you inferring Northam cheated?
I'm inferring the republican never had a chance. Nobody ever predicted that Gillespie was going to win. Northam was running as an incumbent in a blue state filled with govt. employees that was previously govered by a Clinton insider. Dems knew they were going to win so they hyped it up to make it look like a watershed event and a repudiation of Trump. It wasn't. All that happened was a state that has become blue voted blue.

I wouldn't say that. The urban centers just own the state like many other "blue states".

How do you explain the loss of all of those state legislative seats outside the urban areas?

The way they Dems are behaving having won in a predominately blue state filled with government workers, you'd think they won the House, Senate and the Presidency last night. :lmao:

They persist in lying to themselves in order to feel good about the Identity Politics system that now controls the party.

The Northrum ad against Gillespie that labels all his supporters as racists who want to mow down minority children with a truck is just way over the top and has been denounced all over the country.

But not for blue dog Virginian Democrats.

Republicans have become the politics of hate.

Look at how many Alt right posters that show the confederate flag.

ACORN? You think ACORN is equivalent to Republican gerrymandering?

You are confused on the Russian thong. The Clinton campaign hired a opposition research firm who investigated Trumnp's activities in Russia. Trump's campaign had several secret meetings with Russian government officials & then lied about it.

The same cannot be said for the Virginia House of Delegates. Republicans lost 15 seats and now hold a tenuous 51-49 majority. Several Republican incumbents were beaten in districts that were not even contested 2 years ago. Democrats picked up a number of local council seats in areas where they have never held before. There is a lot of evidence suggesting that Republican moderates may be fleeing. They gave Trump his margin.

We are talking about the bluest state in Utah. Hardly unexpected. They did not expand anything since a Republican won a Republican held seat. If you look at what happened in Virginia, the Democrats won 6 of the 11 Congressional districts.

No, they did not because no one was running for Congress you mental midget!

Northram did win those Congressional districts you idiot. The 2nd district looks like the best pickup opportunity while the 7th is within striking distance. None of the Democrat seats seem to be in play. Also worth noting that Northram did better than Clinton in every CD.

They retained a seat in deep red yokel country. They did not win a new one.
And Democrats retained a governorship in commie government fascist Blue VA. What's all the hype about?
We won a governorship in New Jersey.

That and it seems VA has permanently become a blue state. Good news all around
NJ is predominately Blue, and the previous governor had a 16% approval rating. what next will the Democrat hype be equivalent to the moon landing, wins in California?

On the other hand this serves as a good warning shot to the republicans to get their act together and stop this internal bickering.

There are several reasons for this being a big deal. Gillespie got 100.000 more votes than Cuccinelli did 4 years ago. However the Democrats got 330,000 votes than the current Democrat Governor did 4 years ago. Also Democrats have picked up at least 15 House seats which was not expected. Also the Democrat did better than Clinton among blacks and women.

It should serve a warning to Republicans. The things they are trying to do are not what voters want. 39% of voters voted on the basis of healthcare and Democrats got 77% Only 15% and 12% voted on the basis of taxes and immigration and they voted heavily for Gillespie. Yet Republicans are bent on destroying Obamacare when voters want it fixed not repealed. Also they see taxes and immigration as their issues when most people don't.

Virginia only has 11 House seats in Congress.

If you meant Virginia House of Delegates, then they are Delegates.

Oh shut up you moron. I assume people are smart enough to figure it out.

House was rigged as well.

I suppose the House is rigged as well. Republicans had a 66-34 majority as the state was going for Clinton. The Democrat won by a bigger margin than Clinton and Republicans hold a tenuous 51 seat majority.

A special election to replace a Republican, won by a Republican, does not "expand" the Republican majority in the House.

And if you're going to whine that Democrats are making too big of a deal about winning Virginia (which has a Cook PVI of D+1), shouldn't that same thing apply to Utah's 3rd Congressional District, which has a Cook PVI of R+25?
