I didn't notice this until today, while discussing it with a friend. Whats the old political trick in the White House for news that the White House wants to keep as quite as possible? Release it on a Friday afternoon, right? Obama ordered the first strike on a Friday afternoon/evening, AND it was the very beginning of a massive television event, the NCAA basketball tournament. THEN he is out of the country, barely visible, barely commenting, and emphasizing Europes lead. So.....it began on a Friday, amidst one of the biggest sports television events of the year. Which means, a LOT of moderates, fair weather voters who don't pay a lot of attention to politics on weekends, were watching basketball for their office pools. And the news cycle was dominated by the Japan disaster. Is this why he waited 2 weeks? Wait until the public is as distracted as possible? The left will vote for him no matter what, and the right wont no matter what. 2012 depends on the middle, and he knows many in the middle on a Friday in spring while NCAA tournament is on will likely watch non-news TV, or be doing weekend outdoors stuff. When they come back on Monday, or later in the week when the tournament is slowing and start watching the news more, this thing, in Obama's mind, will appear that the US is just a small part of a large UN operation. That sneaky muthertrucker. Wait for start of massive TV sports tournament that so many people get involved in, wait for a Friday, order the attack, then run and hide in Brazil and act like you had no part in it. Pathetic.
