Why the Sanders style so called single payer will not work

I have 20 trillion reasons why, but I think today, it will be enough to just state one.

It's a fairy tale plan, even if the mouths of the hards leftists are frothing about the possibility of confiscating money from far more sucessfull people than they are.

Didn't read the article did ya scum bag. How do you justify spending more than 17% of GDP on what's estimated to be 6% of the economy? Explain how that makes any sense.

.

What the hell are you talking about six percent? In 2015 total health care spending in the United States was 3.2 trillion dollars or 17.4 percent of GDP. Which makes the article a stunning endorsement for single payer. It claimed single payer would cost a tremendous 32 trillion dollars over a decade, which is exactly ten times what we spent in 2015. Evidently, single payer would at least eliminate health care inflation saving us hundreds of billions of dollars over a decade.

Besides, some dumpshit blogger who misrepresents what single payer is, "no deductible", is not exactly a reputable source. And Medicare currently accounts for half of almost every single hospital in the nation's revenue, so we are already half way there. Damn but you rightwingers are a gullible bunch.

No, the "fairy tale" is the idea that health care can be delivered in a market based system. It is basic economics. Little to no elasticity, little to no substitution, nothing even close to equal consideration. Of course, you have no clue what any of that actually means. But, if you want a "free market" in health care the first thing you do is eliminate licensing. Who needs medical schools. If you want to be a doctor put out the barber pole and open up shop. Customers will quit coming once you kill a half dozen people are so, who needs a government putting up barriers with a license.

ROFLMAO! I know all those fairy tales. We already have one to deal with, don't add any more to it.

Sanders was nothing more than another idiot trying to mirror other failed attempts at social healthcare.

These people don't learn. They're only good with repeating the same mistakes others have made.

Liberalism truly embodies the definition of insanity: You can't keep doing the same crap over and over, while expecting different results.

They haven't seemed to come to grips with that simple concept.

Why do so many people believe that single payer means they won't be the one paying? Single payer heath ins is costly and it will cripple families and governments all across the nation. It is the most expensive way to go. Let the feds be the single payer will mean hospitals and doctors will be able to charge whatever they want. Just like $1700 hammers in the military.

Judge: Baby Charlie Gard will end life in hospice, not home

Not to say anything about the universal care taking the parents to court when they wanted to utilize health care elsewhere. FORCING them to remain in-country.

And no doubt thousands of other such examples of the tyranny of universal health care.

Do you know an insurance company in the U.S. would say enough is enough and quit paying claims on poor Charlie sooner or later.
You do realize that no insurance company in the world will force a client to remain in a country or accept their ruling on allowing them to seek medical opinions and help elsewhere, right?

This is the power of a government and this is what happens when you allow the government to stand in for you and decide the medical care you and your loved ones are entitled too.

I can leave any insurance company I want and I don't have to go to court to do so.

How do they get to fire their government who was forcing them to stay and give up hope on their child?

Did the doctor that went over from here tell them there was a 10% chance and a longshot at that if they brought him over here?
That is a deflection from the discussion. We are not talking about the chances that the baby had of survival, but the fact that the government was able to force the parents into remaining in-country. The fact that they forced the parents into a legal battle that may have ultimately cost the child any chance of medical aid isn't even the most ho9rrible aspect. Its the fact that the government stepped in and made the choice for them.

This is what it means to have the government in charge of your health care. They know whats best, not you. It is why this needs to be fought to the very bitter end.

Well it your last reply you said you'd just get up and go to another insurance company, you could under obamacare but if health insurance goes back to the way it was no you won't just go find another insurance company because no one would insure you.

If you think for one minute an insurance company in the U.S. would keep paying then you're living in never never land.

The feds are already running a half trillion deficit on medicare on the limited population being supported by it now and they're paying premiums and paid taxes all their lives. Try multiplying that by the total population.

Go suck wind. It does not work in every country, and not to extent you and other left wing lying scum are tying to sell to the US public.
Links, or it is just right wing, emotional fallacy.

Please feel free to tell me just how good health care is in Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, Nicaragua, etc.
Military healthcare is based on a socialist model.

because the rest of the developed world is filled with prissy wussy sheep, who are non-breeding themselves into cultural annihilation.

And "works" is a very loaded term, considering all the complaints about wait times and doctor quality you get with single payer government controlled systems.

Trustees Report Summary

In FY 2016 the federal government spent $595 billion on Medicare.

But that is not the whole story.

The $595 billion number is so-called “net” Medicare, net of premiums and collections. Gross spending on Medicare in FY 2016, before subtracting “premiums and collections,” was $699 billion.
