Remember when all the left wing economists praised the Veteran's Administration as the model of single payer health care?

Krugman said it was a huge success.

Kristoff said that it is Health care that works and said it is the best performing and most cost effective element of health care in America.

There are plenty of other examples, the RAND Corporation, Ezra Klien, Uwe Reinhart, and Jonothon Golob. Every single one of these people loved what was happening with the VA under Obama, and now all the hacks are trying to blame Bush and the Republicans.

Yup.

Now we gotta find a way to get people to fix what they've known about (and campaigned about) for years but which has them "shocked shocked" now.

If they campaign on it, they better only campaign on specific solutions. "We're doing this specific thing to fix the problem and so reelect us".

If they pretend that Obama is the only FOS panderer in the room on this, then they're FOS panderers too.

Seems that the organization positions became pay-off placements for political cronies, lots of them. These parasites did exactly what they assumed was their right, they started bilking the system for all they could. The VA budget has obviously been expanded exponentially but just as obviously not been used for the purpose a normal person would have assumed it to be used for, providing competent care for veterans.

Those praising the VA (including posters here like Seabytch) operated on the assumption that not-for-profit government always outperforms for-profit greedy corporations.
Now we discover the opposite is the case.

2 wars.

40K horrific injuries from Iraq.

Thousands more Vietnam Veterans continually aging.

And not enough resources to keep up.

Maybe the GOP can shut down the government again.

Which is why the US of A ranks 37th in the world in terms of health care and 45K Americans die unnecessarily while many more go bankrupt.

 working like the GOP intended..alrighty.

Those figures have been debunked repeatedly.

Democrat say we should just blame Bush and then uforget about it for another 6 years. That's helluva lot easier than fixing the problem.

Can you point to any point in history where either actually shut down the government?

Because the government as exemplified by the VA, would make those stats so much better because they could put people on waiting lists, and let them die, then shred the waiting list, and thus everyone magically got the health care they needed.

It is actually pretty simple, that an individual believes that the government cannot do anything right is stupid.

Stupid does not mean, necessarily, lack of intelligence, but the unwillingness to learn and jump to simplistic solutions despite the overall evidence.

You sound just like that Baptist preacher I used to listen to that told me that anyone that believes in dinosaurs was stupid even though I had a dinosaur egg that my dad and I found rock hunting one day.

In other words, Fakey Jake, you are the stupid one.

Maybe if the GOP stopped blocking funding and shutting down the government while focusing on repealing Obamacare and partisan investigations..we might get better outcomes..

But?

Arizona Transplant Patients Die After State Cuts Medical Insurance - ABC News

Actually the body count was 3 Americans killed by Jan Brewer and her cuts.

Where was the outrage?

Sallow making politics out of death. Also, notable is his attempt to deflect to Jan Brewer and a completely unrelated case. Those medicaid recipients were not vets. This is about Federal incompetence.

Try to stay on topic, mister.

Thats the ticket! Straight from the liberal/socialist play book. Blame someone else, and throw more money at it. Works every time.
