"What's happened to us? We haven't just lost our space shuttle program, we've lost our zest for space adventure altogether, at least in TV and movies. How can we get our love for space opera back? "

What will it take for us to get our love for the space epic genre back? During the last decade LOTR and Harry Potter helped make fantasy more popular. What will be the space epic equivalent of those that will do for space genre what LOTR and Harry Potter did for fantasy?

The money for a second generation space shuttle was diverted to "global warming" so we need to shut global warming down and go back to space.
