That's because we the people told them that they aren't in charge, we are. The rich and corporations pay taxes so the poor don't have to pay and so the middle class doesn't have to pay so much.

You'll see. The price of things is going to go up. Not only will taxes go up but "fees" will too. Mitt Romney was notorious for doing this when he was Governor. He didn't raise taxes because Republicans don't like taxes. So he just raised fees all over the place. Want to transfer your title? A big fee. Want to ride on the expressway? A toll fee.

And you'll start to see cuts to your social security and medicare.

I don't care about cuts to welfare and medicaid. Those people didn't show up to vote for a Democratic government so we should try things your way Ray. Free trade unregulated capitalism.

Here are provisions that will definitely affect millions of individual filers:

If you are one of the estimated 30 percent of taxpayers who usually itemize deductions while also relying on personal exemptions to shield some of your income from taxation, you’ll need to rethink your strategy for dealing with Uncle Sam. The new bill significantly pares back deductions while abolishing personal exemptions.

If you live in a state with high income or property taxes, the deductions you lose might really pack a wallop.

If you live in a place with very high real-estate values, you may lose part of your mortgage-interest deduction.

It may make sense to make expenditures that are deductible now rather than later since you may not be itemizing in 2018. There are some items that will still be fully deductible on January 1 that you might want to exploit by December 31 in case you don’t itemize next year. One of those is the charitable contribution deduction. So if you want the Feds to subsidize your generosity, act now.

Gov. Rick Snyder — who is, above all else, an accountant, lest we forget — concurred, saying that repealing the federal personal exemption would likely increase taxes paid by some individuals in Michigan by $170 a person, or $680 for a married couple with two children.

Even Gov. "One Tough Nerd" Snyder criticized the bill for being "very complicated" and warned it may have other implications for Michigan's tax code.

"The benchmarks I've always had are it needs to be simple, fair, and efficient in a fiscally responsible way. What they passed doesn't meet that standard in multiple aspects," he said. "Is it simple? It's not."

This is coming from a Republican governor.
