(KGUN) –The meeting room at St. Odilia’s Catholic Church on the city’s northwest side was packed with local dignitaries, witnesses to the mass shooting Jan. 8, some of the witnesses to the shootings and the first responders to the scene for a taping of an ABC-TV special, a town hall event, at 11 a.m. Saturday. Host of the program, This Week, is Christianne Amanpour. The show will air at 7 a.m. Sunday on KGUN9-TV.
…
Toward the end of the town hall meeting Saturday morning, one of the shooting victims, J. Eric Fuller, took exception to comments by two of the speakers: Ariz. state Rep. Terri Proud, a Dist. 26 Republican, and Tucson Tea Party spokesman Trent Humphries.
According to sheriff’s deputies at the scene, Fuller took a photo of Humphries and said, “You’re Dead.”
Deputies immediately escorted Fuller from the room.

Pima County Sheriff’s spokesman Jason Ogan said later Saturday that Fuller has been charged with threats and intimidation and he also will be charged with disorderly conduct.
Among the dignitaries at the town hall taping were Mayor Bob Walkup, U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva and former Congressman Jim Kolbe.
ABC News dubbed the town hall, “After the Tragedy: An American Conversation Continued.”
A press released stated that the event will restart the conversation that Giffords began. “Among those who will join the Town Hall: family members of victims, citizens who took heroic action and community leaders,” the press release stated.

Aren't you forward to the Libs explaining how this guy shouldn't be held responsible for his threats but that Sarah Palin should be.
What Fuller had to say about the shooting:
“It looks like Palin, Beck, Sharron Angle and the rest got their first target,” Eric Fuller, a former campaigner for Ariz. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, told Democracy Now. “Their wish for Second Amendment activism has been fulfilled.”

Yea, I can see why "You're dead" is considered a threat to kill. When someone can provide concrete proof that any right wing talking head has ever used a similar statement, I would have some reason to agree with their constant whining.

"I'm thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I'm wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it. No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out -- is this wrong? I stopped wearing my What Would Jesus -- band -- Do, and I've lost all sense of right and wrong now. I used to be able to say, "Yeah, I'd kill Michael Moore," and then I'd see the little band: What Would Jesus Do? And then I'd realize, "Oh, you wouldn't kill Michael Moore. Or at least you wouldn't choke him to death." And you know, well, I'm not sure." -- Glenn Beck, May 17, 2005

Other statements:

"My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building" -- Ann Coulter.

"I tell people don't kill all the liberals. Leave enough so we can have two on every campus – living fossils – so we will never forget what these people stood for" -- Rush Limbaugh.

"We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too" -- Ann Coulter.

And the beat goes on.

Mr. Fuller was wrong in saying "You're dead" after taking a picture as well.

Oops!

But, but...that's freedom of speech.

Seriously, though...this guy was way out of line. Perhaps he's a nutcase himself, or suffering from PTSD.

It would be interesting to know what was said that he felt his actions were appropriate.

Based on what I've heard, Fuller has been involuntarily committed fro observation. I have no doubt that part of his outburst stems from stress as a result of the shooting, but the guy did hit a talk show or two prior to this townhall meeting and he seemed fine.

My bet is, they chalk it up to PTSD or some such thing, he sees a shrink, gets some meds, and goes home.

I just hope that's enough. Pray we never hear his name in the news again...

Apparently the guy he said, "you're dead," to had previously blamed the shootings on Gifford.

Lots of anger in Tucson.

Any Karma in Tucson?

In 2001 Giffords made a pilgrimage to Israel and called it a turning point in her life. During that same year Israeli forces killed 103 children, 31 by head shots.

In the last ten years the IDF has killed at least 255 Palestinian children with head shots. In 2009 the UK Telegraph asked a physician about the nature of these shootings:

"'I can't precisely decide whether these children are being shot at as a target, but in some cases the bullet comes from the front of the head and goes towards the back, so I think the gun has been directly pointed at the child.'"

Of course Giffords wasn't the only victim of her assassination attempt.

"It is deeply saddening to read about the dead and to imagine the unending grief for their survivors. /19/ It is particularly difficult to view the sweet, smiling picture of nine-year-old Christina Taylor Green, knowing that her bright life is no longer before her.

It is equally tragic to read of nine-year-old Akaber, killed by Israeli gunfire to her head while riding in her uncle’s car to get medical stitches removed, and of the 29 other nine-year-olds killed by Israeli forces in the past decade, eight of them by Israeli gunfire to the head.

"It is too late for Akabar, Diya, Mohammed, Tom, and the multitude of others.

"But there is hope that Gabrielle Giffords is going to survive.

"Let us pray that she recovers fully, that she is able to return to Congress, and that she then works to prevent others – including Palestinians – from being shot in the head.

How very sad that this man has learned nothing but anger and fear from this attack.

Sorry to disappoint you, but of course he should be held responsible for his threats. It's very sad that he's learned nothing tho.

How sad that the vitriolic political environment that the Left and the MSM have intensified in the last few days is causing even more violence by the Left.

Let us pray for him and the victims of this terrible tragedy.

He looks just like he could be Harry Reid's brother.

I am beginning to think I'm the only person in the world who listened to the President the other night.

And I hate the arrogant bastard, but he got it right that night.

Its just a fucking shame no one was paying attention.

sigh........
