Russia interfered in our elections. You don't get that? That is what the investigation is about. Mueller was given the ability to investigate anybody and anything that evidence of russia's inteference leads him to. I'm glad Trump had him appointed.

WHY does Mueller and his counsel so vehemently oppose a hearing on leaks in his investigation and the sources of those leaks?

One suggested reason is because a key figure in the Trump investigation is former FBI Director and Mueller protégé' James Comey, who admitted on his book tour he leaked classified information and whose testimony before Congress was possibly exposed as being perjurous by former ex-Deputy FBI Agent Andrew McCabe's testimony before Congress.

Could Mueller be seeking to protect Comey from indictment, like Comey protected Hillary from Indictment? Not long ago Mueller stated he was getting ready to 'write his final report'. that signifies he is about to wrap up his investigation regarding the President...WITHOUT EVER HAVING FOUND EVIDENCE OF ANY CRIME COMMITTED BY THE PRESIDENT.

His last hope was baiting and bullying the President into an interview in which he would try to entrap him, resulting in an Indictment for lying to investigators. (Indictment without a crime is not new in this investigation / case, as it was revealed not long ago that Flynn was indicted for lying to the FBI despite the fact that former FBI Director Comey stated none of his FBI team members believed Flynn had lied to them during questioning. That did not stop disgraced Trump-Hating FBI Agent Strzok from indicting him just the same, though.)

With no chance of interviewing the President now, Mueller will focus on his 'Official Report'. Mueller is expected (by many who believe the Left will not let a little thing like absence of a crime or evidence get in their way of taking the President down) to recommend Articles of impeachment, especially should the Democrats retake the House in the Mid-Term elections.
