Trump supporters: How are you punishing the Establishment?

I think a lot of people are reading a lot of stuff into what Trump says that just isn't there.

I think all he does is babble at a shallow level - that may be all his intellectual capacity allows - and people run with it.

That's what makes him such an easy target. Just turn on the camera and let him bury himself. And the GOP.
.
In the final analysis, Trump is an Empty Suit, of the worst sort...

I like some of what he said about flushing-out Illegal Aliens, although I think his idea of a Wall is a stupid way to keep it from happening again...

I like some of what he said about banning immigration from Muslim-dominated countries, although I think his explicit and public references to Islam are impolitic...

I love some of what he said about forcing manufacturing jobs back on-shore using tariffs, etc., and spanking companies that ship jobs overseas or fail to bring them back...

But he lacks the finesse to accomplish those objectives in an American political context...

And his other characteristics and attributes, and the risk to Nation and People posed by same, render him "not worth the cost{" or "not worth the risk" in my mind...
I think of him, beneath the bravado and bluster and suits, as a guy in a bar.

That guy takes a passing interest in stuff, he'll offer up an opinion without really investigating it, and he'll change it as he gets more information. Maybe. Or maybe he'll just argue it because he doesn't want to give in. If a couple of other similar guys in the bar agree with him, he just gets emboldened and doubles down.

No intellectual curiosity, little analytical thought, he just burps stuff out.

That's fine for the guy in the bar, but not for this.
.

That is the feel his wants to give. That is part of his persuasion to the Average Guy on the Street.

But, he is more like a CEO who is applying for a job.

His analytical thought is about the job interview. And it's going full bore.

He has some general direction plans for what to do if he gets the jobs, but details waits until he gets in there.

And it is better than any of the alternatives.

And HIllary has decided to match him by doing him one WORSE.

She is going for Panic Mongering as her primary message.
Well, it may be the feel he wants to give or that's just who he is. He's said so many ridiculous and self-destructive things it's a little tough to think that he's acting.
.

Bill Clinton did that because of the Republican Revolution and Newt Gingrich insisting that he do it. And the actual budget was never balanced, it was smoke and mirrors devised by counting the Social Security Trust Fund in with the General Budget.

Horseshit. We balanced the budget because 1) we weren't pissing away tons of money on useless military shit and 2) Clinton finally got the rich to pay their fair share. When George W. Stupid (who was Right With Jesus) came along he undid those things and doubled the national debt.

And George W. Bush was not a fiscal conservative... neither was his father.

Neither Was Reagan. But you keep claiming he was.

Well, no we didn't. The systemic problems are 100% the result of layers of liberal left-wing mandates and regulations. Government interfering in free markets where it had no business interfering.

yeah, I mean, clearly those rules about Clean water and clean air and making workplaces safe... fuck that. That's interferring with the 'Free Market'.

To get a little more specific here (okay, and to bump the thread, guilty), as I understand it the reason you're mad at the establishment is that you would elect people who say they're conservative, but then don't act as conservative as you want them to when they're in office. Okay, I do get that.

So it appears to be about frustration over elected Republican officials not being conservative enough.

So in response, you run a guy who would certainly be considered a RINO if it were not for his (insert adjective here, I'm out of them) behavior.

That's the disconnect that I'm asking about.

Well, I can see how you are a little confused.

Trump is the end result of 40 years of getting White Males to vote against their own economic interests by playing on their racial, sexual and religious fears.

The problem is the Establishment has been trying to steer the ship away from the shoals of being a White Identity Party, Trump doubled and tripled down. And he did manage to tap into some genuine concerns about jobs and wages being driven down by undocumented workers and foreign competition.

Trump has reduced the GOP to it's lowest common denominator.
The only people who thought the GOP was a "white identity party" before Trump became the nominee are idiots and anti-white racists.

In comparison the DNP has been considered the black and brown identity party that is against the interests of both white males and females since at least 1992 by white people with a functioning brain.

Joey, this isn't Revisionist History class and the subject of the thread has nothing to do with this whatsoever. I don't know how you've gotten so derailed... probably need to take your meds.

You're starting to ramble on like little idiot liberal drone and I don't feel like engaging you, to be honest. I've been here and done this. So you keep on ranting and get it all out of your system while the rest of us TRY to have a conversation on the thread topic.... mmmk?

You like some of what he said, but doubt that he can accomplish them?

ON the other hand, your alternatives, will be working exactly AGAINST the issues you said you liked.

YOu like the idea of deportation?

Hillary will be working to give them Amnesty AND to get more in.

You like the idea of a ban on Muslim immigration but worry that Trump was "impolitic"?

Hillay will throw open the doors.

YOu like his ideas about forcing manufacturing jobs back, but doubt he can do it?

Hillary will fight to continue shipping jobs overseas.

SOunds like your choice is between a maybe you something you want and a certainty you DON'T.
I do, indeed, want the 11 - 12,000,000 Illegal Aliens forced to leave the country.

I do, indeed, want further immigration from Muslim-dominated countries, to be halted for a decade or so.

I do, indeed, want manufacturing jobs forced back on-shore, and I want companies spanked, that send more off-shore.

But...

I also want leadership that is coherent, thoughtful, and, most of all, sane...

That is not what we have in Attila the Hun...

Attila is too high a price to pay, for what I want...

Duly noted you couldn't answer the points made. Once again, another dumb-ass redneck gets his argument CRUSHED by truth, but they never do any rethinking.

Instead, you can pout in a corner, and when Trump loses, you can mutter, 'Well, if we ONLY nominated a REAL conservative, everything would be puppies and sunshine."

Meanwhile, the rest of us will fix the country. You can thank us later.

He is an Ivy League Graduate, you really think he can't talk at a college level?

He has been a success in three competitive fields, (real estate, tv, and now politics)

HIs speech has been analyzed and shown to be highly skilled rhetoric. He does A B Testing that normally is done by teams of marketing experts, but he does it in real time, by himself.

So, you're buying what HIllary is selling?

What in his background supports her panic mongering?

Conservatives who like his Nationalism may want to believe that he is a conservative.

BUt, no, he is not really a conservative.

He is a Nationalist, and a Populist.

He was, imo, the best candidate in the Republican Primary, but I can respect people who thought it was Cruz.

He is certainly better than Hillary or Sanders.
