Trader Joe's Thanksgiving in a box special? $13, feeds a family of 8?

Lots of shit in there.
But it's extra virgin olive oil...
That is fine, but it is all the other shit. And Americans wonder why they are so fat and unhealthy.
Acrually the world obesity has tripled over the last 30 years or so.

Got news for you. We ate far worse in the 50s and 60s and 70s.

Every household had Crisco, which is lard. There was no such thing as diet drinks or healthy cereals. No smoothies or food labels. We ate far worse.

However, back then the other things that did not exist was cable TV, the internet, or video games. As a result kids were not sitting around for hours on end after they ate their crap. Far more active and we would burn off what we just consumed. Especially the sugar. Remember, Coke and Pepsi were very popular back then and diet drinks were not popular till the 80s.

It is sedentary lifestyles or behavior that causes the health problems. The left don't want to address those factors cause that is about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY and as you know, the left is about pushing government on the masses.

They use the guise of concerns for our health as a nice opportunity to push government on us.

The point is always be active. The worse you eat, the more active you need to be. That is the point.
There is no doubt sedentary life styles plays a part, but poor diet is a huge part of it. I do not believe Americans ate poorly decades ago compared to today. That is a fallacy. Another fallacy is that consuming fats are bad for you.

Today millions of Americans eat processed and fast foods daily. This did not occur decades ago. These processed and fast foods are full of sugar, grains, chemicals, and GMOs. All these ingredients cause weight gain, over eating, and lead to poor health. This did not exist decades ago.
There were processed foods back then. Tv dinners, mass carbs, mass sugar, all of it. Most sugar was processed too....white sugar.

Nearly all of the bread choices were white bread. From Wonder Bread to Dandee. There was no such thing as gluten free or multi grains. Hell, there was no such thing as healthy cereals. There weren't even food labels on anything to inform anyone of anything.

Today, nearly every isle in the grocery store have healthy alternatives (choices.)

McDonald's was very popular and they did not have anything close to a salad or bottled waters....or sugar free soda.

It is not even close. The fact is we were more active. That is our problem. Not the fact that we have a wider variety of choices, which in many cases are healthy choices that we did not have back then.

Quit playing the pathetic socialist game. You are being brainwashed into thinking taking choices away is a good thing. It isn't.
Don't be silly...playing the socialist game LMFAO.

Our foods today are much more unhealthy than they were in 1950 or 60. People ate whole foods then. Seldom did they use fast food restaurants. Families ate together and ate wholesome home prepared foods. Was it all good? Of course not, but compared to today (which is our debate) it was much better. The Great Depression era man and woman did not go to restaurants and generally did not eat foods from a box, can, or bag.

All this explains in part, why so many YOUNG people today are obese. Obesity in young people back then, was nearly unheard of.

Wow.....

I explained what causes the OBESITY today. They did not have video games or cable TV or the internet.

Far more active. If you don't think McDonald's was popular in the 50s and people went to less restaurants....wow. Just amazing.

You don't think things were processed back then? There was no such thing as gluten free or multi grain breads. Essentially it was all white bread. The white...is processed bread.

No labels.

It is the overall sedentary behavior that has led to the obesity "epidemic."

Not the fact that we have healthier CHOICES or more fast food restaurants to CHOOSE FROM.

You say you are not playing the socialist game and yet you are clearly blaming the fact that we have more choices for the reason that we are fatter.

Please don't bring up the fact that people were less fat back then. We know that and they were eating WORSE.

Glad you didn't deny that diet drinks did not exist back then. Since the left blame Coke on obesity and since Coke existed back then and since there was no such thing as sugar free Coke, explain that.

Are you going to claim kids were drinking less Coke?

Lol

You are quibbling over a minor disagreement. Americans consume far more processed foods TODAY than they did decades ago. This can't be effectively refuted.

Of course TODAY Americans are far less active, particularly children.

These two factors are the primary causes of obesity in young and old.

Socialism has nothing to do with our discussion and saying it does, hurts your argument. Please find where I stated too many choices were to blame. You made that up to fit the silly socialism meme.

PROCESSED FOODS is not the biggest reasons for obesity. You are now being absurd.

You think there was LESS processed foods back then? How would anyone know? There were no food labels.

You still are not denying diet drinks did not exist. Your claim that we ate at less restaurants is just a naive statement.

There was only WHITE BREAD being sold. That is all processed. All of it.

No such thing as multi grain cereals. All full of sugar.

Your entire argument is a fallacy and not based in facts. We did not ever hear of gluten until this century. I still bet the average asshole could not tell me what a gluten even is

You are being ridiculous and a product of bullshit hype.
