Acrually the world obesity has tripled over the last 30 years or so.

Got news for you. We ate far worse in the 50s and 60s and 70s.

Every household had Crisco, which is lard. There was no such thing as diet drinks or healthy cereals. No smoothies or food labels. We ate far worse.

However, back then the other things that did not exist was cable TV, the internet, or video games. As a result kids were not sitting around for hours on end after they ate their crap. Far more active and we would burn off what we just consumed. Especially the sugar. Remember, Coke and Pepsi were very popular back then and diet drinks were not popular till the 80s.

It is sedentary lifestyles or behavior that causes the health problems. The left don't want to address those factors cause that is about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY and as you know, the left is about pushing government on the masses.

They use the guise of concerns for our health as a nice opportunity to push government on us.

The point is always be active. The worse you eat, the more active you need to be. That is the point.

Couldn't possibly have eaten worse than a fucking turkey in a box!

Crisco is vegetable shortening. Lard is animal fat. So Crisco was quite a step up from lard.

I agree that the major difference is lifestyle. Especially among children. What we refuse to recognize is that playing outside, running and jumping, was safe. Now being unnecessarily out of doors is dangerous. Hell, even being in one's home, in one's own bed, in some neighborhoods can result in death. There's no kid running off to play down the street. It's an appointment. A play date.

We have never categorized how much our dangerous culture has impacted lifestyle.

Yeah, not just kids either. Many have jobs where they sit in a cubicle or whatever and stare at a computer screen for 7 hours and come home and watch tv or get on a computer for another 5 hours or so.

30 minutes of exercise is not even enough. Then, most people are too lazy. I know I am, or have been less active.

I use to be far more active. Cannot remember the last time I even thought of drinking a coke....or whatever.

I could eat better, but I ate a whole lot worse as a kid.

Make no mistake about it. The health issue hyped by the media is about promoting government into our lives. They will and always do avoid the notion of personal responsibility for obvious reasons.

Personal responsibility is one of the wonderful conditions with our freedom of choice in a free market. Remember, they hate a free market. They despise competition. They hate this country.

But it's extra virgin olive oil...
That is fine, but it is all the other shit. And Americans wonder why they are so fat and unhealthy.

There is no doubt sedentary life styles plays a part, but poor diet is a huge part of it. I do not believe Americans ate poorly decades ago compared to today. That is a fallacy. Another fallacy is that consuming fats are bad for you.

Today millions of Americans eat processed and fast foods daily. This did not occur decades ago. These processed and fast foods are full of sugar, grains, chemicals, and GMOs. All these ingredients cause weight gain, over eating, and lead to poor health. This did not exist decades ago.

There were processed foods back then. Tv dinners, mass carbs, mass sugar, all of it. Most sugar was processed too....white sugar.

Nearly all of the bread choices were white bread. From Wonder Bread to Dandee. There was no such thing as gluten free or multi grains. Hell, there was no such thing as healthy cereals. There weren't even food labels on anything to inform anyone of anything.

Today, nearly every isle in the grocery store have healthy alternatives (choices.)

McDonald's was very popular and they did not have anything close to a salad or bottled waters....or sugar free soda.

It is not even close. The fact is we were more active. That is our problem. Not the fact that we have a wider variety of choices, which in many cases are healthy choices that we did not have back then.

Quit playing the pathetic socialist game. You are being brainwashed into thinking taking choices away is a good thing. It isn't.
