The Walmart Family owns as much as nearly half the country

I see the left has found a new straw man.

The first man that can successfully build a successful Asteroid mining corporation is going to be the first trillionaire. I'm dead serious...He will be able to become super rich as your bs doesn't extend off this planet!
Well, Matthew, why don't you go for it?

Do a google search on how house slave conservatives jump to suck rich cock? No thanks.
The irony is terminally pissed off fuckchops like you sucking the dicks of uber rich assholes like the Kennedys, Rockefellers, Soros and Buffett, as though that's somehow going to do you any good.

They didn't fuck up our tax structure and send us into a recession. And yes I'm weary of all rich people and I'd like to punch every one of the Rockefellers in the face but I'm blaming the ones who actually did the fucking.

George W. Bush and his ilk effectively murdered small business in this country.

NO, actually, it was the UNIONS who priced themselves out of the domestic market.

It will never happen, That's an even bigger pipe dream than libertarianism.

Walmart to Add 10,000 Self-Checkout Lanes at 1,200 Stores in 2013

Walmart to Add 10,000 Self-Checkout Lanes at 1,200 Stores in 2013 | Retail News | RIS News: Business/Technology Insights for Retail, Supermarket Executives

The world's largest retailer is dramatically increasing its investment in self-checkout technology, with plans to add 10,000 NCR SelfServ Checkout lanes in 1,200 Walmart stores next year. Walmart already uses self-checkout in 1,600 of its stores, and the company recently increased the number of Sam's Club stores with the devices, from 80 earlier this year to 300.

"Our customers are shopping differently than they ever have, and we're using innovative technologies like self-checkouts to meet their needs," said Walmart U.S. senior vice president of innovation Jeff McAllister in a statement. "Our multiple checkout options give us a unique advantage to provide our customers with the quick, easy and convenient checkout experience they tell us they want."

"Shoppers and retailers recognize the speed and value self-checkout provides and shoppers tell us they are eager to see it expanded into other retail segments," said NCR Retail senior vice president and general manager Scott Kingsfield.

Between this and online sales becoming more of the pie. Well, what can I say.

I was watching a special and they were saying what the Walmart family owns is equal to what over 40% of Americans on the bottom of the economic ladder owns.

And remember when I said that food stamps are used as a business supplement because people raising a family on minimum wage - can't?

Remember how Republicans talked about how great is it working at Walmart? That if people would just get a job, they could get off foodstamps?

Wage and Hour Lawsuits against Wal-Mart Settled for over $350 Million - AboutLawsuits.com

Last week, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. announced that they have agreed to pay between $352 million and $640 million to settle 63 wage and hour lawsuits filed against the retailer in 42 different states. The lawsuits accused the company of cheating hourly workers by forcing them to work through breaks and not paying them for overtime.

Remember before the election Republicans on this very site, suggested there is nothing wrong with corporations becoming more involved in government? That they want what's best for the country because they are profit driven? Even Mitt Romney said "Corporations are people my friend".

Earlier this month, Wal-mart agreed to pay $54.3 million to settle a wage and hour class action lawsuit brought on behalf of workers in Minnesota, after a judge found that the company had violated wage and hour laws more than 2 million times.

And Republicans on this very site want to shrink government to the point where it can be drowned in a bathtub and abolish all those stifling regulations.

How many Republicans have talked about abolishing the minimum wage?

This is why we have to be vigilant when it comes to the Republican Party. They are dangerous and full of the "gullible".

The left in their obsession of Wal Mart have been recruiting employees and former employees to file suits for years, I'm really surprised they've had so little success. Wal Mart has 1.4 million employees and who knows how many former employees, if the settlement reaches the 640 million reported, that would be less than 5 dollars per head, and the lawyers will take most of that. Keep them lawyers working lefties, I'm sure they apreciate it.

You must really appreciate how much our government subsidizes those low wages, in their case those food stamps are corporate socialism. If the Waltons had shred of decency they would get the hell off the public dole and pay their people a decent wage. They could easily give these workers what they get in food stamps and still make tremendous profits.

You might want to do a little research, Wal Mart pay is above the industry average, yet the left puts a bulls eye on them, ever ask yourself why? It's very simple, they're the largest and if the unions can break in there the rest will fall in line, which will equate to billions funneled to leftist politicians through the unions. Unions are nothing but money launderers for commiecrats.

Soooo, does that mean you like Walmart employees getting food stamps rather than wages or not? I thought you guys hated stuff like socialism?

No he didn't. On his watch in our town, a lot of small businesses did okay and employed a lot of people.

I'd love to debate and argue this and show why this stupid but I have to go, I'll be back to finish this argument later.

If they're paying above the industry avg then all are on food stamps. :eusa_shifty:

More dimwit hate the rich guy who is smarter then the average dimwit to get rich. Idiots.

It's that same attitude that makes medical bills the number one cause of bankruptcy. That American helping American is "socialism".

People that work for minimum wage need food stamps. If you are already working full time and only getting minimum wage and food stamps, you can hardly afford college or jobs training. That is why the government, made up of "we the people" need to make sure why we need to invest in American citizens. Republicans call that socialism and hate education. We know that for sure. The Republicans path for this country is "back to the stone age".

here you go again....the HATE Education story..... why dont you tell us how they want to END it too.....your stories are always good for a laugh....

so is the Democrat Party Dean.....but you would not know because you are one of the "gullible"..........
I have to presume that some people on the forum believe that the supply of wealth is finite. Nothing the rich own precludes anyone else from being well off. I don't know about the rest of the country, but in our area (SE US) Walmart pay and benefits are the same as KMart, Target, Best Buy, Sears and all the other discount stores in the area. I see no reason to complain about the wages the market will bear. Don't forget, businesses are not social enterprises. They are in the business to make a profit. If they don't maximize their profits they are effectively stealing from their share holders, who are among other people the very people who are claimed to be paid low wages. My son started working in Walmart in 1986. Within a year his benefits kicked in and he was given options to buy stock, which he did. In the 26 years since he started, between his walmart stock and 401K he has retired and is enjoying his life with his wife and kids.

NO grown up person should work for minimum wage. Minimum wage is for part-timers, students and young people between jobs.

There are plenty of jobs outside of the warm comfort of home of the inner city. Oil rigs, pipelines, mines, forestry are hurting for lack of work force.

Skilled jobs in carpentry, plumbing, car mechanics, electrics and the food industry go unfilled, because the snobs that Rick Santorum referred to in his much-maligned speech insisted and still insist that ALL kids should go to college, not realizing that some kids are simply NOT college material, and would do far better off, going to trade school, which, sadly don't exist any more.

When I was a eighteen year old immigrant, by myself, in this country, I was happy to have a job in the bush, later in the mines (eight years all told) then on the factory floor, before I managed to get my high school diploma as an adult student, and eventually become a successful computer programmer.

BTW, I still have a thick accent. I am grateful for the opportunities that I had, and happy that I had the brains to take advantage of them.

No American born young person should do any successfully than I have done.

It blows my mind how house slave conservatives will do anything for their rich masters. Reading these poor ignorant pieces of garbage defend the uber-rich's evil bullshit in this country is maddening.

Defend them from what? Do you and your ilk plan on robbing them? Why yes you do.

What have Waltons done that required them to be defended, other than incite the envy of a mob of losers like you?

Considering how the Republicans under control of the uber-rich in this country absolutely gangraped our economy and tax structure over the last few decades while completely slanting the wealth towards the top of the pyramid and pissing on everyone else, it amazes me that house slaves like you continue to defend these predatory practices. I want this country to have a more fair and even playing field like we did in the past before useful idiots like you were getting used by them. And it's obvious none of you dumb fucks are rich or even well off, which just confuses me even more.

The Waltons are probably more single-handedly responsible for gangraping our economy and making us China's bitch than any other one entity. That's why I'm angry.

The ones who are and always have gang raped the economy are the unions.

The latest example is how the union RAPED Hostess.

How sweet it is!

This is why Progressives need barbed wires to keep people from fleeing their countries.

Their "ideas" come with a 100% guaranteed fail rate.

That reminds me: I lived in behind the barbed wires of the big cousins of current day liberals/Democrats, in Hungary, prior to 1957.

And as the events of 1989-1990-1991 clearly shows, Keeping democracy out and keeping repressive socialism in is a failing proposition.

World's Happiest Country Is... - Denmark, and unhappiest is Togo: report

Bhutan measures the mood of its citizens in a national happiness index, and in an international meeting held at the UN yesterday and led by the country, it urged other nations to follow its lead. A report released for the meeting, taking into account polls from 2005 to 2011, ranks the happiest and unhappiest countries. The happiest (the US makes an appearance at No. 11.)

Note that the UNHAPPIEST countries are all in Africa.

You know, the place where all humanity, all civilization all decency and all fairness originated. As proven by their written history, their literature, their industry, their social justice and their total independence, having shed the colonial chains and white dominance once and for all.

Their present state of their success is exactly what the first AFRICAN-american president is striving for.
