Libya does have some......sweet crude.
So did Iraq. Now check out the nationwide gas prices. Course, something tells me that this could be different, maybe Russia is getting a piece of the pie from us if they support it. ~BH
Good point. Possibly why Russia abstained, the fix could be in.
What's the point. Ghadafi has already slaughtered his citizens and is now in control again.
The point is that, if McCain were President right now, we'd already have military intervention in Libya that could be anything from a "no fly zone" to boots on the ground.
This is why I voted for Obama.
Here is the liberal rope-a-dope by, gotohell. This may come as a surprise but McCain, isn't the President. Your home boy Obama bin Lyin, is in the hot seat. Remember? You voted for the Messiah didn't you?
I will say this though. If McCain were in the White House we'd have a President that was competent enough to lead. With Obama as CinC one thing has come into very sharp focus. His years of experience as an ACORN operative didn't prepare him for the job. He is in way over his head. Even John Kerry, is becoming frustrated with his lack of leadership.
In case anyone forgot. This is how we got in to Operation Iraqi Freedom.

I don't really care about partisan politics right now. I am more concerned with the issue at hand: Are we going to war with Libya?
And is it the right decision. At this point I dont think it is.

"The Libyan government declared a cease-fire Friday in its battle against rebels seeking to oust longtime leader Moammar Gaddafi, saying it was acting to protect civilians in the wake of a U.N. Security Council resolution that opened the door to military action.
U.S. officials said that it would probably take several days for a full operation to be undertaken and that President Obama had not yet approved the use of U.S. military assets. Obama has preferred to let other nations publicly lead the response to the Libyan crisis, and White House officials said he would not appear on camera Thursday night to speak about the U.N. vote."
Comcial. Gadhafi obviously doesn't have WMDs. Don't see the point in invading their country.
What the hell is going on here? First us, Great Britain, Russia and Greece have billion dollar arms deals with Lybia, and now all of a sudden they are all canceled and we are gonna start dropping bombs on their anti-Aircraft sites? Something stinks about this whole thing, and it smells like crude Oil.
Just last Year Britian released the Lockerbie bomber and allowed him to return to Lybia in exchange for billions of dollars in Arms deals, which is unbelievable in itself. Now all of a sudden it's about the freedom of the Lybian people, LMAO! These International Socialist criminals have become so bold in what they plan and do that it passed arrogance long ago. And hey? It doesn't matter if the puppet masters robot has an (R) next to his / her name, or a (D) next to his / her name. It's all the same agenda. What a load of bullshit plopped onto a plate for all the stupid brainwashed sheople out there to swallow. ~BH
You'll notice that it is the GOP, and not the Democrats that want military intervention in Libya, right?
McCain and Lieberman both support a no fly zone.
Robert Gates (not a politician obviously) has correctly pointed out that is an act of war.
We have no business securing democracy for other people. Especially when they don't want our help and we are struggling at home.
If we are too poor to pay for NPR, then we are too poor to pay for jet fuel over Libya.

Of course, if the Dems suggested such actions, 'Baggers would consider it playing The World's Policeman.

While I don't want to fuel the partisanship, I think it's difficult to separate this situation from the politics at hand. Many of the critics of Obama have regularly claimed that he would be/is weak in terms of national security, that he would not have the gumption to resort to military options when it was necessary. I fear that that prodding has contributed to the situation. Obama feels pressure to make military action an option, and to show that he has no hesitation pulling that trigger. We should not go into Libya, it is not our problem to fix, but I'm worried that avoiding military conflict there may not be politically possible.

geaux, Other than the far left in The Democratic Party, The Democrat majority & GOP Majority will end up voting for this. Trust me bro. ~BH

Not sure about the McCain thing but we're about to see about who is involved in the no fly zone. And no, let the rags kill each other. It's not worth our involvement.
I think we can do better than "let the rags kill each other".
