Only a liar or a Republikan - but I repeat myself - will deny that the United States today is stronger economically and has greater respect from out allies then when G. W. Bush left to cut brush in Texas.
Given that President Obama accomplished so much with little or no support by the once and no more Grande Olde Party (in fact the GOP put party first and disregarded the middle class, and labeled the working class and poor as lazy & scofflaws - 47% of our citizens), President Obama's successes have been remarkable.
Let us not debate the success of The President, nor point out the obvious failures of his predecessor, lets us only look forward to the next two years and support a progressive agenda, one which creates a system which raises all citizens willing to make the best of their lot in life when doors are not closed by their ancestry, gender, sexual orientation, skin color or ethnicity. We are all Americans and deserve a government which adopts the vision statement written so long ago and reprinted here:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness";
And the Mission Statement, written here:
"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
Let us not parse these words for political advantage, the phrases are clear as written. Watch the State of the Union tonight, and decide if the President of the United States is in sync with the vision and mission passed on to us, or if the person selected by the Republican Party holds these truths as unalienable.
