The Electoral College

CLINTON WON THE POPULAR VOTE BY APPROX. 1.5 MILLION VOTES.

As has already been pointed out your facts are a tad off. I'd just like to add that Clinton won the popular vote by 2.8 million and not 1.5 million.

Other than that and all the other 'facts' that are outright lies you got from your right wing #fakenews sources, great argument bro. :cuckoo:

"Without California, Trump would have won the popular vote."

"Other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?"

Funny, the rationale used to decide that the areas where people live don't matter, but what only matters are the areas where cattle and farm acres outnumber people.

Why should the population of L.A. get to decide who is the governor of the people in Calistoga? Because there's more people, genius. That's how democracy is supposed to work.

we are a republic not a democracy.
Ah, so votes don't matter in a republic. Thank you for your contribution.

This is why the Electoral College remains an important part of our Presidential election system.

In their infinite wisdom, the founders of our country created a

structure called the "Electoral College" as a control system and to

ensure the individual states were fairly represented. Otherwise one

or two densely populated areas would speak for the whole of the

nation. It was not created as a device to favor Democrats,

Republicans, Whigs, Tories or any other political affiliation. It

was created as a system of "checks and balances" to guard against

any small vocal area, with a specific agenda, speaking for the whole of the nation.

The following list of statistics should put an end to the argument

as to why the Electoral College makes sense.

THERE ARE 3,141 COUNTIES IN THE UNITED STATES.

TRUMP WON 3,084 OF THEM.

CLINTON WON 57.

THERE ARE 62 COUNTIES IN NEW YORK STATE.

TRUMP WON 46 OF THEM.

CLINTON WON 16.

CLINTON WON THE POPULAR VOTE BY APPROX. 1.5 MILLION VOTES.

IN THE 5 COUNTIES THAT ENCOMPASS NYC (BRONX, BROOKLYN, MANHATTAN,RICHMOND & QUEENS) CLINTON RECEIVED WELL OVER 2 MILLION MORE VOTES THAN TRUMP.

IN OTHER WORDS, THESE FIVE (5) COUNTIES ALONE, MORE THAN ACCOUNTED FOR CLINTON WINNING THE POPULAR VOTE FOR THE ENTIRE COUNTRY!!!

THESE 5 COUNTIES COMPRISE 319 SQUARE MILES.

THE UNITED STATES IS COMPRISED OF 3,797,000 SQUARE MILES.

WHEN YOU HAVE A COUNTRY THAT ENCOMPASSES ALMOST 4 MILLION SQUARE MILES OF TERRITORY, IT WOULD BE LUDICROUS TO EVEN SUGGEST THAT THE VOTE OF THOSE WHO INHABIT A MERE 319 SQUARE MILES SHOULD DICTATE THE OUTCOME OF A NATIONAL ELECTION.

LARGE, DENSELY POPULATED CITIES (NYC, CHICAGO, LA, ETC.) DO NOT AND SHOULD NOT SPEAK FOR THE REST OF OUR COUNTRY...AND SOMEHOW THE GENIUSES WHO FOUNDED OUR COUNTRY UNDERSTOOD THIS AND CREATED A SYSTEM TO AVOID THAT CIRCUMSTANCE.

AND NOW YOU UNDERSTAND THE SUPREME IMPORTANCE OF THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE.

DO SHARE THIS... IT NEEDS TO BE UNDERSTOOD.

You either support a government of the People, or you don't. Obviously you don't.

world famous dumbass "Juan Williams" actually believes that not one illegal alien or dead person voted, therefore, Hillary should be President...:poop::laugh2:

Dems are butt-hurt and doomed to agony.

It's not about the people...it's about the States.

Those 13 States would have never signed that piece of paper without
proper representation.

The electoral college is proportioned to the individual states.

The official name of the country is..."The United STATES of America"
The founders made the States equal to each other in proportion.

Fuck you commie, jaboni loving liberals.

National Popular Vote

The National Popular Vote interstate compact would guarantee the Presidency to the candidate who receives the most popular votes in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

The National Popular Vote bill has now passed a total of 35 state legislative chambers in 23 states. The National Popular Vote bill will take effect when enacted into law by states possessing 270 electoral votes (a majority of the 538 electoral votes). It has been enacted into law in 11 states possessing 165 electoral votes (CA, DC, HI, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, RI, VT, WA). The bill will take effect when enacted by states possessing an additional 105 electoral votes.

Purdy funny there partner. Each state that approves is definitely snowflake and thus deep blue.

Changes in the Constitution do not happen by getting a majority of electors. Very stupid and short sighted especially on the smaller states, HI, RI and VT where doubtless butt hurt abounds..

When state with less than a million people gets the same number of Senators as a state with 30 million people,

that is simply undemocratic. You can make any argument for it that you want, but in doing so you are making an argument for undemocratic government.

You're implying that Trump should have been awarded NY's electoral votes. That's fucking daft.
No, that was your inference. So, should Trump have been awarded PA's electoral votes?

Then why did the OP bring it up? He presumably was trying to make some sort of point.
I imagine because he does not feel that all power should be vested in urban centers, most which are shit holes anyway. (my commentary)

The only reason the RW'ers make the silly 'counties' argument, or reference, is that rural counties are more likely to vote Republican than urban counties.

There is nothing else going on there.

I’m fine with that for the Senate, but not for the Presidency. A guy in Wyoming’s vote counts for 3 votes compared to other states. That's not right.

Those were the conditions under which states joined the union. We cannot change the Constitution or deny those states those rights because one side or another is experiencing butt hurt.

It's an abomination in the Senate as well. It's how you get 41 Senators, mostly from rural heavy states, to block for example a background check bill supported by 90% of Americans.

If one's butt hurt by injustice, whose fault is that?

The founders had their share of bad ideas. Some we are stuck with.

It is not "injustice" as you put it, The Constitution applies equally across the board and therefore as just as any human-made institution can be.
