TAX DAY: Obamas report income of $1.73 million; to get $12,334 refund...Umm WAIT

This thread got shot down in the 2nd post.

Through withholding and estimated tax payments during the year, the Obamas paid $466,104 to the Internal Revenue Service. That was an overpayment, so they are getting a $12,334 refund.

who gives a shit what the Obama's made? but it's funny watching the lefties DEFEND them all the while screaming for MORE taxes on the RICH.

Stephanie, you are a hack. SEriously.

Lets not forget, he donated 250k to charity as well.

Which netted him a $250,000 deduction, and helped him get that refund. If he really believed what he says he would keep just enough to live on, donate a bit to charity, and give the rest to the government because he doesn't pay enough in taxes.

Cunning plan ... give away $250k so you can get a few grand back.

If he really believed what he says he would keep just enough to live on, donate a bit to charity, and give the rest to the government because he doesn't pay enough in taxes.

When has Obama stated that he believes people should only keep what they need to live on?

She is. The President even pointed out that he would get a tax-break under ryan's plan. Geesh. :eusa_doh:

It was an opportunity to practice lying through the use of a misleading statement. It's what the Republicans do best. What they are known for.

From the "Article" linked:

ah, you all don't mind the Obama's making MILLIONS. who knew being President was such a lucrative job.

you have to wonder where THEIR MONEY is coming from, neither of them WORK.

1.73 million is NOT "millions". Dumbfuck.

ROFLMAO, You are such a fool. You think Obama is like you. Face it, he is a rich man.

When has Obama stated that he believes people should only keep what they need to live on?

The fact is that if he had not claimed the deduction in his taxes you would not be able to point it out. I am just stating the thing that is so obvious that lefties have trouble seeing it. If he truly believes that people should not get deductions for charitable contributions, why did he claim it?

As for him only keeping enough to live on, that is the only possible way to be fair. He has more than he needs, and he keeps as much as possible for himself. He thinks it is wrong when others do it, yet you support him when he does it for himself.

He is a politician, he lies, he is also a hypocrite. Live with it, don't delude yourself.

He lied about that, as usual.

Ryan's plan would reduce the top rate from 33%, but it would also eliminate most of the deductions and loopholes that effectively make the top rate payers pay, on average, about 17%. They would actually end up paying closer to 25% on average.

I might be confused by the Newspeak that is prevalent today, but that looks like an increase in taxes to me.

That's what he believes? News to me. Got anything to back that up? Quote? Legislation submitted?

Says who?

He has more than he needs, and he keeps as much as possible for himself.

False. He gave away $250k last year.

He thinks it is wrong when others do it, yet you support him when he does it for himself.

He does? Again. Prove it.

Lowering the deduction rate does not mean that he "truly believes that people should not get deductions for charitable contributions."

Come back when you have an honest point to make.

You really have to appreciate the logic some people try to apply to these things.

Obama is in favor of increasing taxes on top earners therefor he should give everything he doesn't need back to the government.

Obama is in favor of reducing the charitable deduction rate on top earners therefor he shouldn't claim his own charitable deductions.

:cuckoo:

Not to mention if he didn't claim it the birfers would freak out because he had $250K unaccounted for and they'd swear it was to pay off Hawaii.
