Trump released Taliban fighters on condition they make no war, interfere in no way with the Afghan government, keep the peace. And if they broke that agreement they could expect certain swift and terrible retribution. They knew he meant it and were causing no problems whatsoever when he was President.

Further the war ended in Syria, North Korea stopped flying provocative missiles over South Korea and Japan, Russia, China, Iran all stopped saber rattling. Trump believes in peace, not starting armed conflicts, not getting embroiled in endless wars, and all of them knew it. They knew they could not make or even threaten war with with impunity.

But since Biden was elected, the Taliban went on the move again forcing a deadly and shameful evacuation from Afghanistan, we are embroiled in what could be an endless war between Russia and the Ukraine, Israel is at war with Hamas, China, North Korea, Iran are all saber rattling again and aggression against their neighbors could be imminent.

Nobody respects Biden and the entire world knows he is weak, incompetent, and incapable of decisive action. And, like Obama, he'll wag his finger and cluck his tongue but won't do much if anything to stop them from doing anything they want to anybody.

The truce with the US was one of the conditions for us to begin to withdraw. The peace negotiations between the Afghans and the Taliban never started and were delayed numerous times. The first of which was because they excluded the Afghan Government from the Doha negotiations, and they didn't agree with the 5 to 1 prisoner swap Trump's team negotiated. The Taliban used that time to continue to attack not only the Afghan Army but the Government and civilians who supported them as well. We continued our withdraw throughout 2020, well past the 8600 level called for in the Doha Accords.

Which was a formality we sought in the attempt to evacuate while NOT under fire.
