Superior according to what criteria?

Compensation relative to productivity? I could see that. From the perspective of semi-skilled worker, government jobs may be preferable to private sector jobs because they get more for doing less.

The private sector on the other hand, by definition, requires the value of productivity to exceed its compensation. It must be this way for economic growth to occur. So in terms of productivity, private sector jobs blow public sector jobs out of the water, across the board.

Sounds like if you're convinced that government jobs are the bee's knees, you're all about the bennies and could care less about actually doing anything valuable.

It only seems that gov't jobs are preferable to private sector jobs because they get more for doing less when in comparison. But the truth is that with private sector jobs you do far more work for way less wages (ie McDonalds) with little or no benefits to speak of.
