Surprise! Obama Is Creating More New Jobs Than George W. Bush

That's fiction. Just look at the Department of Labor's monthly employment reports going back to the month of Obama's inauguration. In the 4 years of Obama's presidency we have had virtually zero net job growth. The number of unemployed people was 12.3 million when Obama took office. As of last month, that number was 12.2 million.

Employment Situation Summary

In contrast, under Bush we had 52 consecutive months of economic growth and an average unemployment rate below 6 percent.

As of last month, the unemployment rate was 7.8 percent, and for most of Obama's presidency it has been above 8 percent.

So, tell us how Obama has created more jobs than Bush when the number of unemployed people has only dropped by 100,000 since January 2009 and the unemployment rate has been above 8 percent for most of Obama's presidency, whereas the average unemployment rate for Bush's 8 years was below 6 percent.

And we only get there by pretending tens of millions of potential workers are not really to be counted as being in the workforce:

labor force participation rate is the lowest it has been in 30 years

The private sector creates jobs - government jobs are a drain on the private sector; economics 101!

Yes, because it is the taxpayers who pay their salaries.

And look at this:

SNIP:

Release...

Jan. 4, 2013, Fairfax, VA—Americans for Limited Government President Bill Wilson today issued the following statement responding to today's unemployment report:

"With the number of people unemployed jumping by 164,000, it is clear that the economy under Obama's stewardship continues to struggle.

Supposedly the recession ended in June 2009, but more than three years later, the economy is still shedding jobs, with 22.4 million who cannot full-time work, and another 5 million who have given up looking all together.

SNIP:

"This, despite trillions of dollars fiscal and monetary 'stimulus' by the government that was supposed to get the economy back on track.

Libertarian Republican

Yahoo is cranking out the propaganda now boy..

they also say the Republicans are split and angry..

just another mouthpiece for the Democrat party

And we only get there by pretending tens of millions of potential workers are not really to be counted as being in the workforce:

Ok, make your case on "pretending." Labor Force has ALWAYS meant working or trying to work. So why is following the defintion used for over 60 years "pretending?" What definition are you using?

The private sector creates jobs - government jobs are a drain on the private sector; economics 101!

Exactly!!! It is not government's responsibility to create jobs and they are not capable.

Hiring more bureaucrats because of all the oppressive laws they passed is not good for the economy. It's not good, period. His policies have discouraged hiring in the private sector, where all the wealth is created. Expanding government while private sector jobs disappear will bring us down, but that is the real plan.

And yet do a bit of research and discover that the job growth during Bush's terms was mostly in govt jobs.
Of course the govt funded MIC created some jobs...

Stupid fuck....obamination has shrunk the workforce by causing people to quit looking for jobs for good.

Numbers don't lie kids... there it is for all to see. :eusa_clap:

Surprise! Obama Is Creating More New Jobs Than George W. Bush - Yahoo! News

Even President Barack Obama acknowledges that the economy is creating jobs too slowly under his stewardship. Yet Obama can now boast that more jobs have been created during his first term than during that of his predecessor George W. Bush.

When Bush began his first term in January 2001, total nonfarm employment was 132.47 million. When his second term began four years later, it was 132.45 million, or effectively zero job growth.

Obama's first term isn't technically over yet, but so far, employment has risen from 133.56 million in January 2009 to 134.02 million in the latest report, for December 2012. That's a net gain of about 460,000 or 0.3 percent. As paltry as that is, it beats Bush's first-term performance...

Government jobs are far superior to most private sector jobs.

Superior according to what criteria?

Compensation relative to productivity? I could see that. From the perspective of semi-skilled worker, government jobs may be preferable to private sector jobs because they get more for doing less.

The private sector on the other hand, by definition, requires the value of productivity to exceed its compensation. It must be this way for economic growth to occur. So in terms of productivity, private sector jobs blow public sector jobs out of the water, across the board.

Sounds like if you're convinced that government jobs are the bee's knees, you're all about the bennies and could care less about actually doing anything valuable.

It only seems that gov't jobs are preferable to private sector jobs because they get more for doing less when in comparison. But the truth is that with private sector jobs you do far more work for way less wages (ie McDonalds) with little or no benefits to speak of.

:DAnd it seems with gov't jobs...the gov't gives you a nice increase in pay whether you do your job or not. Isn't that nice.

So you're making the hilarious mistake of characterizing a McDonald's job as the archetype of private sector jobs generally. Think for a second about how stupid that might be.

McDonalds, Wall Mart = same difference.

:eusa_shhh:And do you realize that if the gov't did all the hiring that those jobs at McDonalds and Wal Mart would look pretty good. Why? The gov't doesn't have the money to do so.

Just remember when the gov't does do the hiring you the taxpayer are the ones paying for it. So hide your piggy bank.

Libertarian Republican

What about farm subsidies and military spending?

:eusa_eh:

That's not a fact... that's a myth.

Uhhh.. no.. it is not.. the money must be taken away from the private sector... and channeled thru multiple levels of bureaucracy adding waste and drain on the economy..

The myth that government jobs are helpful to the economy is on par with the myth that welfare spending stimulates the economy more than if the money was never taken out of the hands of the populous to begin with

Tough shit pal. This is America, land of the free. If you don't like the competition get the hell out or offer a better carrot.

:eusa_pray:Tough shit? Thats right dude...America is the land of the free. That doesn't mean you are to depend on the gov't to hand over whatever you need for free. You want something then you go out and earn it. Its not the responsibility of the taxpayers to just hand over what they earn to satisfy the freeloaders of their needs. Land of the free indicates we have freedom here. And that freedom doesn't mean we have to help those that don't want to help themselves. And if you don't like that then you get the hell out.

Your graph is crap as are you.

Haha, thanks for conceding your entire argument right there. :eusa_clap:

Go fuck yourself.

:DWhats the matter? Can't stand it when the truth is put right in front of your face? Why don't you put up some proof to what you believe is the truth.

You know you look like your following the nitwit leader more and more every time you answer. Just like when Ubama gives a speech...the minute he finishes he rushes off instead of taking questions. Why? Because he knows he would look more like a jerk trying to answer. Hes a coward.

You can't go by the original press releases...the establishment data gets revised for the two months after release and then revised again with benchmarking and revisions to seasonal adjustment.

The household data gets revisisions to the seasonal adjustment every December.

Surprise! 48 million Americans are on food stamps.

Surprise! Unemployment for women and African-Americans rose despite an economy that created 155,000 jobs. Unemployment for women rose to 7.3% in December from 7.0% while the rate for African-Americans rose sharply to 14.0% from 13.2% in November. As you can see the Democrat Party's war on women and black Americans continue.

Surprise! Unemployment was revised from 7.7% to 7.8%, and that is the Obama friendly numbers, not the real numbers that include those who have given up looking for work and such.

Surprise! Joe Biden promised that we'd be hiring at a rate of 500,000 jobs a month in April of 2010 if we did the stimulus. Where are those 500k jobs??????

Surprise! According to Generation Opportunity, which charts unemployment for Millennials aged 18-29, the rate of unemployment is 11.5% and a shocking 22.1% for younger black Americans. But, the Democrat-Media complex are reporting 155,000 jobs and an unchanged 7.8% unemployment rate........LOL!!!

Surprise! The fiscal cliff plan Obama and Democrats wanted and got will screw over the middle class!! Workers making $30,000 will take a bigger hit on their pay than those earning $500,000 under new fiscal deal -- middle-class workers will take a bigger hit to their income proportionately than those earning between $200,000 and $500,000 under the new fiscal cliff deal, according to the [supposedly] nonpartisan Tax Policy Center. Earners in the latter group will pay an average 1.3% more -- or an additional $2,711 -- in taxes this year..." This, by the way, is just the FICA tax, I believe, 'cause there's a lot more. They're gonna be paying a lot more than $2,000. That's just on this one tax, the payroll tax. The people that earn "between $30,000 and $200,000 will see their paychecks shrink by as much as 1.7%," and 1.7% of 30 grand is a lot more than 1.3% of 500 grand. So the people that make 30 or 40 grand are going to be out about $1700. The people who make 500 grand are gonna be out $2700. WAY TO GO DEMOCRATS! YOU SURE ARE THE PARTY of the MIDDLE CLASS!!!!!:clap2::clap2:

Surprise! Democrats and lefties talk up a glorious picture, when in fact it is anything but that. Surprise! You can't think outside of what the Democrat-Media complex feed you....oh wait...given it is you...this is not a surprise.

Surprise! President Obama was handily re-elected. :eusa_clap:

:DIts a shame he brainwashed too many of you lefties. Follow your leader and maybe he won't laugh at you too much.

Obama plans to EXPAND this government then tax the shit out the people or leave them very little to live on..

they voted for it..

Someone has to fix the catastrophic economic failure President Bush and the private sector got us into. Fixing America's economy is exactly what President Obama is accomplishing, little by little, piece by piece and it is the gov't that is now coming to the rescue just like back in the Wall St/Stock Market Crash of 1929. Big Gov't fixed that too.
