Stanford scientists find the climate and health impacts of natural gas stoves are greater than previously thought

How about a lil Comedy music for ya all ? If it your place thet blows forget about its importance ! You're the only one thas homeless except for ?

The global warming kooks are going to use this as an excuse to ban the use of natural gas. Just watch:
Natural gas stoves release methane – a potent greenhouse gas – and other pollutants through leaks and incomplete combustion. Stanford researchers estimate that methane leaking from stoves inside U.S. homes has the same climate impact as about 500,000 gasoline-powered cars and the stoves can expose people to respiratory disease-triggering pollutants.
Humans have cooked with fire for millennia, but it may be time for a change. Natural gas appliances warm the planet in two ways: generating carbon dioxide by burning natural gas as a fuel and leaking unburned methane into the air. A new Stanford-led study reveals that the methane leaking from natural gas-burning stoves inside U.S. homes has a climate impact comparable to the carbon dioxide emissions from about 500,000 gasoline-powered cars.
This extra warming from home methane leaks contributes about a third as much warming as the carbon dioxide generated by combustion of the stove’s natural gas, and sometimes exposes users to respiratory disease-triggering pollutants. The findings, published in Environmental Science & Technology, come as legislators in numerous U.S. municipalities and at least one state – New York – weigh banning natural gas hookups from new construction.
“Surprisingly, there are very few measurements of how much natural gas escapes into the air from inside homes and buildings through leaks and incomplete combustion from appliances,” said study lead author Eric Lebel, who conducted the research as a graduate student in Stanford’s School of Earth, Energy and Environmental Sciences (Stanford Earth). “It’s probably the part of natural gas emissions we understand the least about, and it can have a big impact on both climate and indoor air quality.”
An overlooked contributor to a growing problem Although carbon dioxide is more abundant in the atmosphere, methane’s global warming potential is about 86 times as great over a 20-year period and at least 25 times as great a century after its release. Methane also threatens air quality by increasing the concentration of tropospheric ozone, exposure to which causes an estimated 1 million premature deaths annually worldwide due to respiratory illnesses. Methane’s relative concentration has grown more than twice as fast as that of carbon dioxide since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution because of human-driven emissions.
While pipeline leaks of natural gas, which is more than 90 percent methane, have been studied extensively, natural gas-burning cooking appliances have received comparatively little attention.
Over one-third of U.S. households – more than 40 million homes – cook with gas. Unlike other gas appliances, such as space and water heaters that are usually placed away from living quarters, cooking appliances directly expose people to their emissions, which can include formaldehyde, carbon monoxide and nitric oxides that can trigger asthma, coughing, wheezing and difficulty breathing, occasionally resulting in hospitalization. Hood use and ventilation help reduce concentrations of nitrogen oxides and other co-produced pollutants in kitchen air, yet surveys show that home cooks on average use hoods for kitchen ventilation only 25–40 percent of the time.
I said this years ago.... eventually they'll come after the chimneys on the houses... and here we go.

They have been pushing for that for a couple of years already there are no scientists in Stanford, there are people with an agenda and no clue.

Yeah, we can use nuclear. Sunshine and unicorn farts, on the other hand, won't get it.
Cook with electric if you want. I prefer natural gas because it starts hotter and can be reduced immediately depending on what you are cooking. plus when the power is knocked out I can still put a little bit of heat into my home.

I wish you freaks would take California and start your own pathetic feces stained country and leave the decent people of America alone.

Ha, how convenient.

Let me play.

"Eventually we will all be in concentration camps and get gender reassignments."

Now I can always repeat this and never be wrong, too!

For years and years and years and years and.. .

This was a no brainer...
The sum total of hydrocarbon product emitted from private home furnaces is several hundred times larger than its industrial counterpart....first thing that occurred to me when the Shamans of Phony were bitching about the smokestacks. You can't have one without the other.

Yet we have both. But hey, keep at it. You can never be wrong, after all... how soothing...

I am wrong quite often....you already know this.
This is not a case of right and wrong brother.
It's a case of numbers adding up to whatever they add up to.
If the cumulative smoke stack emissions from industry are so egregious then how can
their much larger non industrial partner be less so? And yet it was ignored lo these many years.

Better design of Batteries make some sense. the Below just seems to use way more energy lifting the weight against gravity than there is returns of electrical energy. I'm gonna guess that Converting Carbon Dioxide to O2 and Carbon storage makes a better working plan for the natural energies here.

Arid climate states have created their own unique population / Water / high costs of living !
Cal. refuses to build 100 de-salting plants. So just move from a near Desert States to a better position along a River and deal with spring floods is a thought. Maybe Super H2O water tankers are a better choice in affordable fresh water to dry Ports to unload /Pump for irrigation purposes ! Super Tankers seem to be in abundance now ! 84,000,000 gallons each 50,000 cubic feet.

well they could capture all the rain off the mountains into a reservoir.

Isn't diverting water Via a canal how the Salton Sea was man made due to climate flooding of the Colorado River ! Maybe living in a Caustic area where ground water pooling becomes unusable is a thought for the Cal. arid areas. Think the creation of the Salton Sea also created good Agricultural Acres but the Water is basically unusable except for the created rainfall east due to evaporation of the Sea Water ! The Idea of creating huge inland lakes is acceptable for increased rainfall due them to the East.

Enemy democrats want an all electric future. All homes, all electric. Every home to have a smart switch that would shut off power remotely. It would make brown outs and black outs so much simpler.

A Russian Coal Mine releases more Methane, lakes constantly have methane bubbling up, The Ground in Russia literally creates geysers of flames with a zippo lighter. Its stupid not to burn up natural Gas. Its sorta trapped under ground somewhat but hell is coming in a huge group of flameing torches, most likely! The more you burn the more carbon dioxide can be changed back into Carbon and O2 with a Will there will be a way, and stupidity can learn something. All eyes are on making fuel out of CO2 on Mars and from Water on the Moon. Why not put a good thing to work on the Earth, potable water from Sea Water and fuel + O2 from CO2, its a no brainer.

California should leave The Union and become part of China since China is who actually runs California.

There is no basis in Science at all for eliminating this kind of stuff.

It is batshit insane.

Why are they religiously following The UN's Agenda 2030 to destroy Sovereign Nations and replace Democracy With DemNazi Globalist Fascist Tyranny?
