Harkening back to what Gunny wrote, you'd need to control your temper with this same sort of thing. BAC is certainly a socialist/communist leaning black man, but if he was a citizen of your town? I don't have people mouth off to me in real life as they do here. You probably don't either, and I've seen you hand out some retaliation here yourself. Do you do that in real life? I think not. Pale can you actually come here to be mayor, the mayor we have does nothing. She might pass new ordinances but she does nothing in regards to city managment or cleaning out most of the worthless workers at city hall and the parks department. The only thing she did was move floors when the parks department remodeled their floor and she decided to take over the floor. I have a feeling you would come in and fire everyone which is what needs to be done.

Well... as a matter of fact... there are a few here that have cushy jobs that pay well but appear to be damn lazy. They're usually sitting around the town shop while there's plenty of things around town that need doing. Yeah I'd probably ruffle some feathers. These people think they have it made. Well, right now they do, because nobody gives a damn if they laze off. I'd change that. I'd make them earn their pay check or they'd be down the road.

People usually like to say they're the same in RL as they are here.. yet you're here laying claim to multiple personalities.. I'm not so sure that'll work in what you're trying to do, either... I, for one, lip off in real life just the way I lip off here.. One major difference is on here, I come off as rather uncaring, which in real life is the farthest thing from the truth..But that's based more on actions than words. I expect the same is true of most people here...

Fact is, your temper is completely out of control an awful lot, and that's not going to serve you well in any line of work, much less something like city council or mayor... You're even starting to get really tense right now, defending yourself...(Yes, it actually comes across in just your typing).

This is the net, you can be anything you want to be, unchecked. I find most people are like they are on the net. You can claim to be venting or claim that you are much more polite in public or in real life but things creep in..comments....posts etc. If I were you, I would not speak of this anymore. I worked for the parks department here for three years, of course I was lowly grunt worker. It used to drive me nuts when all the fat old men would just sit around and watch you do the work. Half the time they would be discussing how to get something done and I would have it done before they made up their mind.
And they wonder why they say city worker is an oxymoron!

I'm not the least bit naive..A lot of us know where each other is..but we're also pretty careful on how much info we give to whom. EX: Pale, I know only what town he's in, and his first name. A few others, I know far more.. It depends on the level of trust developed over time...And more yet, I know even less. I DO, however, know not to be so trustworthy in the future, as one person made my life a living hell about 3-4 years ago...

If you feel you have a 1/2 way decent chance of winning and you feel you can make a difference, run. My only suggestion is not to use your own money and to keep careful track of your finances. Even if you lose, at least you'll know you tried. Plus it gets your name out there and maybe you would stand a better chance at winning next time.

I have, infrequently, but I have. I've written stuff I'd never say in person. That I'll give to Pale, he's right on that. It's much easier behind a board, especially when talking to folks many miles, sometimes oceans apart.
